I'm currently thinking about whether to buy ToB. BG2 is probably my favourite RPG at the minute but I'm not sure about paying £20 for an addon (since I got the original for £14.99 in a sale) considering that things like Neverwinter Nights and so on will be out later this year, after all the things I've heard about the add-on quests being very linear and difficult.
However I've also heard that ToB adds extra features and content to BG2 in additions to the new story quests and Watcher's Keep. Things like improved spell effects (like the Icewind Dale ones), a button to highlight doors and items, improved spell and item balancing, etc. Could anyone give a list of the enhancements and additions in ToB? |

Well, this isn't the complete list, but here goes...
New Character Kit: The Wild Mage New Spells: 10th level Mage spells, Cleric Quest spells, Wild Mage spells. New NPC: You'll see when you get it New quests and areas Great storyline! Tab button highlights all doors, treasures, chests, etc. New button for cleric/mage in spell list to jump immediately to cleric or mage spells. Can erase spells from spellbook. Can watch characters move on the map screen (no auto-pause.) Improved spell graphics (as you said, like IWD.) New HIGH level abilities for each class. New powerful items for each item type (each armor type, weapon type, potion, etc.) Well, I'm sure I could think of more (or is this it?) but I gotta run. Hope this helps you make the right decision - which would be to buy it!!! ------------------ -- trux |

I'd suggest you get it. It finishes off the storyline. Also, don't expect NWN to be out this year, I'd say early 2002 if they are lucky.

the ability to stash rings and necklaces in gem bags is outstanding. there is a bag for missles, a potion bag, and a second bag of holding. you can face irenicus with a higher xp level, so its not so difficult.. youll find the improvements greatly update soa to an even more enjoyable game.
