.POSSIBLE SPOILERS
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I've decided to restart the game from baldurs gate because I missed so much in two I want to start again as a mage but I don't want to waste the time in one getting spells just to have my book stripped of me so I have a question. If I started a new character in baldurs gate 2 would he be the same as If I play through baldurs gate one again attack and savingthrow-wise? Because I don't want to have an inferior character and if your wondered about the subject line I've opted to not use subject lines any more considering people get so angry when I do. ------------------ Worm, About as interesting as traveling with an angery cambion. |

Yes he would. If you hit the exp cap in Baldur's Gate I ( 161,000 ) you will import with that. If you start a mage in Baldur's Gate II then you start with 89,000. The biggest benefit of starting a mage in Baldur's Gate I are the tomes and manuals you can find. There is a tome/manual for each stat and two for wisdom to be found. Each one increases a stat by 1, permenantly. With this, you could import a mage with a 19 intelligence, enough to scribe every scroll of every spell level. Be forewarned, I have had problems importing specialist mages from BG1 into BG2 after installing Throne of Bhaal... As far as getting your book burned ... I wouldnt worry about it too much. There are plenty of low level spell scrolls to be found early on in the game. Also, if you import with 161,000 experience, you get to choose level 5 spells at the beginning of SoA. Not bad to start with Breach, etc. This is what I did with my conjurer. He had an absolutely sadistic set of rolls ( kind of a one in a million roll ) when I created him. I never wanted to lose those rolls either. And on top of all of that, you get the fun of playing through Baldur's Gate I again, which is still as awesome as it ever was ![]() |

Give me a week memnoch and I'll get tired of my little game and start arguing for a feral halfling kit in NWN. ------------------ Worm, About as interesting as traveling with an angery cambion. |
