Game Bug??? Can't Exit Abyssal Stronghold Anymore

First time posting here...but have used the board for help many times...you guys are great...anyways, to my problem.

I'm halfway through throne of bhaal and I can't get out of the stronghold anymore. I just defeated Sendai and teleported to the stronghold, and killed the new test you have to pass. Now, when I try to leave, the screen goes blank and my characters reappear just standing there and I can't move around and the mouse cursor has disapperead. I did a re-install of the game to no avail. I'm not running any of the baldurdash fixes as well. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

but than again being a dentist I'm sure your
use to it?Haha!

It seems like you may have a mouse problem? I'm not sure
but if your courser has also disappeared that leads me to believe your
problem may reside in your mouse?? I have had this problem before myself
and believe me if your mouse is messed up it can do some wierd stuff!!
some others may have some good input for your problems as well its just
what came to me as soon as I read your courser disappeared? If It were me
I'd be looking at my mouse first. Good luck

It's not the mouse. I can walk around the stronghold, talk to Cespanar and do whatever I want in there...but when I try to leave the stronghold to continue the game, it just freezes up.

Thats odd? I haven't really heard of a problem like that yet. hopefully
someone else may have a better answer to your problem. I didn't really
understand that you could walk around and stuff. Did the screen allways go
blank everytime you left the stronghold? I know mine does"briefly".

God, I crack myself up!

I know this is going sound really stupid, but here is my troubleshooting question for you (and I've done this myself you know...).

Do you have the autopause set to enable when an enemy is sighted? You may be sighting an enemy as soon as you teleport back to wherever you came from. That's about all I can think of. Otherwise, it sound like you're getting hung up somehow. As a next action, I'd suggest that you save your "saved games" folder to a folder other than the BG2 folder. Then do an uninstall and go into Windows explorer and delete the entire BG2 (or ToB or whatever it is) file structure. Restart your PC and do a clean reinstall. The uninstall utility doesn't remove *all* of the file structure and that can sometimes hose you up on a re-install. Hope that helps?!

Last resort...take a screen print and post it here so we can see what you're talking about.

I'll try the "Clean" install tactic. But basically, I can walk around in the stronghold, talk to whoever I want there, etc. When I click on the wheel to exit the stronghold, it does it's little animation, the screen goes black, the hard drive runs, and than the screen reappears with my guys standing in by the exit but I can't move or do anything and the mouse cursor disapperas. Pretty annoying since I want to finish the game and check out what happens...

Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll try it and let you know how it went.

This happened to me after I beat Abazigail. The game went into cutscene mode and never brought itself back out. I had to revert to my last saved game to clear it up, but it never happened again after that.

Unfortunatly, I didn't have another save game so I had to start over by importing a new game...oh well.

That sucks. Did you save your "save" folder before doing the uninstall? So...did the clean install work for you?
