Underdark / drow quests [SPOILER]

Hi!

I could really use some help in the Underdark, figuring out if I missed any quests and in which order to do them all in, because of the many time restraints in the drow city.

Here's a list of quests in the Underdark outside the city:

1) Help the deep gnomes collapse the tunnel and kill the demon
2) Release the trapped souls from the machine (incl. a gnome and a lich)
3) Release mage from Imprisonment, get his book, help him in a quest
4) Go visit Silver dragon

Did I miss anything?

In the drow city I have:

1) Gotten the brain for the aboleth
2) Fought in the arena in the tavern
3) Rescued Phaere from the devourers
4) Helped Phaere kill the spelljammer beholder
5) Gotten the deep gnome helmet for Phaere
6) Pretended to kill Soulafein for Phaere
7) Killed some rebels and slimes and oozes for a Lolth priestess
8) Gotten the Kuo-toa blood for the matron mother
9) Swithced the eggs
10) Let the city when the summoning went bad

BUT! I never figured out the following things out about the drow city so please spoil me:

a) Is the Tower of Deirex involved in a quest and how do you initiate it?
b) Is House Jae'llat involved in a quest and how do you inititate it
c) Are the Upper Levels in the drow city involved in a quest and how do you initiate it?
d) Same question for the monster seller and the slave manager in the drow city

Also, does anyone have a list of the best sequence to do all of these quests in so that you do not run out of time? That seems to be my major problem every time I play.

I probably rest too long.

Well, outside you could go through the illithid lair and the beholder lair. Those are both south, over the little bridge.

You got them all. Just to be sure, though, have you approached the elemental portals *before* freeing the mage from Imprisonment? You can keep killing elementals until they stop spawning (about 10-12 per portal, I believe).

There's 2 "arena" type areas - did you hit them both? One is in the east on the main floor & you fight an Umber Hulk, a Nabassu, etc. The other is in the west on the main floor & you have 2 duels followed by a few wizard battles.

Yes - after deliveering the Elder Brain blood/Kuo-Toa blood/Beholder blood to the Matron, while you're heading back to Phaere's house, you'll pass a newly spawned character named Visaj, who will offer to sell you a magical rope that will let you enter Deirex's Tower.

b) Is House Jae'llat involved in a quest and how do you inititate it

Yes - you'll find the wardstone that'll let you enter House Jae'llat inside Deirex's Tower.

c) Are the Upper Levels in the drow city involved in a quest and how do you initiate it?

There's no quests (that I know of) that involve going to the Upper Levels - you can pretty much pretend they don't exist.

d) Same question for the monster seller and the slave manager in the drow city

The monster seller is just there for flavor - you can buy one of them & have it follow you around (it'll eventually go hostile on you, though).

Try visiting the Slave Manager after the Matron has sealed the city (while doing the Egg-Switch for Phaere, for example). Since you have the favor of a House, you'll have more options in dealing with him.

Also, does anyone have a list of the best sequence to do all of these quests in so that you do not run out of time? That seems to be my major problem every time I play.

I tend to do the 2 arenas & the Aboleth-fetch-the-brain quest after first visiting Phaere in the Tavern, since she gives you a few hours to kill. When Phaere sends you to do the Egg-Switch, I usually do Deirex's Tower & the Slave Manager.

I probably rest too long.

Probably true. [img]smile.gif[/img] There's not a whole lot of big battles, so I usually only rest once during the whole time - at one point, Phaere gives you 3 days to meet up with her - that's probably the best time to get in a rest if you need one (you can also get a free rest if you agree to do *everything* Phaere asks you to do). Nope. Figure I missed some XP there but that's ok.

Nope, only did the duel, not the monster fights. I am going to have to figure out how to start the monster fights. There must be someone to talk to, right?

Ah, that explains it. To save time I ctrl+J jumped from place to place. That's why I missed him.

I had heard from others that there was a possibility of Solafein hitting on my female character, but Phaere has not made a move towards me. Probably because I am female.
