WKeep level 5 speed bug?

i'm in watcher's keep, at level 5, just arrived...

first, i went to upper left corner room, where the orbs are, and i quick saved after every fight, but 3 fights before last i realized that my PC is very slow (he has boots of speed, and now he had speed like without them) - he isn't slowed, level/stat drained, i tried reloading, quiting and starting game again, taking boots of, etc., but no help...i reloaded my save at the very begining of level 5 and tried other room - i went to ghost, finished orc room, then tried dragon room and realized that i'm slow again - i reloaded my quick save from inside the dragon room - too slow, i reloaded my auto save in front of the dragon room, and it's corrupted too (i checked my speed before entering and it was as it should be)...

did anyone else encountered similar bug? is there workaround or should i forget "Q"?

ok, i think i've found the answer searchin the board - it seems that ring of free action (which i equiped on this level) is negating the effect of boots of speed (since it negates ANY movement related effect)..i guess that's it, i'll try it now
