I used to play SOA on my computer before my boyfriend erased it and put on a new OS, I think it's XP, anyways I reinstalled BG:SOA last night and started to play it all over again. But when I got to the part where you need to talk to the Sewage Gollum to get him to open all locked doors it continnualy says "Cannot initiate dialoge, Sewage Gollum appears busy." I have the stone and have explored all open areas. I tried to download the patch but it said since I have TOB installed I don't need it. I am stuck and don't have a clue as what to do. I even tried resting and going back, starting a new game...none of it worked. I am clueless.

I think you were trying to get the SoA patch. Download the ToB patch here: http://www.bioware.com/games/throne_...pport/patches/ and then get the baldurdash fixpack here: http://www.baldurdash.org/ToB/Fixes/TOBfixes.html

Another thing: it is very important that you install the official patch before the fixpack.

So I need to uninstall the whole game then reinstall SOA, do the patch(s), and then put on TOB?

No. Install SoA, ToB, official patch and fixpack.

From the FAQ:
Quote:
1) Install the game first (SoA) + ToB if you have it
2) Install the Official Patch next
3) Install the Fixpack
4) Install third-party mods if any
