Help! Shadowthief problem.

The Shadowthief' leader sent me to this Mae'Var to determine if he is a threat and kill him. Mae'Var then sent me to talk to Edwin. I had this disagreement with Edwin and I attacked him. He went Improved Invisible and I can't find him. Mae'Var still tells me to talk to him,but days have passed and he just isn't there. Detection spells and other methods("Fire in the hole!" BOOM "Clear!") don't work either. Is there an alternative way to get back on track on finding Imoen instead of this?

Reload or CLUA Edwin in the game. BTW Mae`Var doesn`t have anything to do with Imoen.

Thanks, Xen! But how can I avoid being sent to Mae'Var by the Shadowthief leader? I just want my friend back!

Renal Bloodscalp is not a Shadowthief leader. (Just for turists) So don`t worry. When you will have enough money you might meet him/her. This quest with Mae`Var isnn`t even important for Imoen.

The thief leader is not the guy who sends you to clear out Mae'Var. I think he's kind of the 2nd in command. The only way to actually get to the Thief leader is to pay money to a certain fellow in the slums. I believe he'll then take you to the leader who is located in a secret area beneath the thieves hideout. Hope that helped, didn't want to be too spoilerish

The Gelan Balean or something? I payed him 15k, and he said to meet this guy. I think I'll go explore some of the thief HQ, as I noticed this hidden door I didn't open.

I had the problem with the skinner murder when I got in a fight with vampires and the girl ran away. Never found her. So I just hacked up the, em, spoiler? Didn't get rep points, wah!

That is correct. There are three Thief lords in the Docks.
Renal Bloodscalp: Publicly known as the head of all Thief activity in Athkatla, although he himself states that he is not the leader of the Shadow Thieves.
Mae'Var: Renal's lieutenant, runs the Docks District with an iron fist. These two guys are known to be high-ranking Thieves, even by the average-joe Commoners on the street--just ask them.
Aran Linvail: Known only by his officers and a few outside contacts (such as Gaelan Bayle), he is the head honcho, the Shadowmaster of Athkatla. Nobody else has even heard of him.

Renal and Mae'Var have nothing whatsoever to do with finding Imoen, but you MUST go through Aran Linvail (one way or another) in order to reach her. Due to a bizarre bit of of coding by BioWare, it's even possible to kill both Mae'Var and Renal and still work for Aran. Wierd, huh?
