You can't chose to multi-class during the game with out using an editor. If you want to multi-class, you have to do it from the start.
And humans are the only race that can't multi-class, but they're the only race that can dual-class.

Context clues, hm? Akilla is obviously asking about an ideal dual-class level, we shouldn't hector a new user about the (not so) subtle differences between dual and multiclassing... I believe that you could go ahead and do it at level 10, Akilla, though I'm not sure... Where are your proficiency stars?

Sorry,

i confused multi class and duel class, i meant dual class. at what lvl should i dual class my fighter... he is capped at level 40. i want to get the most out of the fighter/thief combo, so i was wondering at what level i should dual class him into a thief?

thanks again

Do you have Throne of Bhaal also? If no, and you have a vanilla fighter, level 12 is probably right for you. If yes, then level 15 or so.

Having ToB installed gives you extra abilities and other statistic increases that you can't get with out ToB installed.

I wasn't bullying Akilla, Illumina. I merely pointed out that humans can't multi-class.

Vanilla fighter means plain, no kits or anything.

And having ToB implies you have a higher XP cap, therefore you can dual at a higher level.

Uninstall any SoA patches that you've installed and uninstall your mods (I think you need to uninstall your mods, not sure, just play it safe). Install ToB and then installed the ToB Official Patch and the ToB Fixpack. Then reinstall your mods and you're set to go.

Yes, you can use your SoA characters in ToB. After you install ToB, chose to play SoA and continue your game. Once you finish SoA, you will automatically be imported into the ToB starting area.
