Not tried playing over the internet yet, but the book I got with the game has all sorts of instructions on how to play on the internet.

Basically, when playing TCP/IP, you enter the host's IP adress and join the game. NOTE: If you are behind a firewall this will probably NOT work, I just spent one and a half hours trying to get my firewall to accept my BG2 multiplayer and ended up simply shutting it down for the time being.

Your Baldurs Gate game might have the option to install Game Spy Lite, which will allow you to easily pick and choose multiplayer games to join...
