I have a habit of picking pockets while I play. I consider it a win/win situation, but last night on line I ran into a snag. I tried to PP a peasant and failed. nobig deal peasant turns red and I kill him and 2 of his friends. Now my reputation is dropped down to 3. What confuses me is that usually when I PP and fail I can attack that person without the consequences. Granted i usually do this on Ruffians and such. My friend had his AI button on so coulkd it have been one of the party? Just confused...

I think it is safer to steal from those carrying weapons, if a person doesn't have a weapon then they are classed as an innocent and anything you do to them is bad, just stick to the creepy blokes with swords!

nahh thats normal, they are defenceless as therefore your rep goes straight down to 3, happened to me all the time. anyone you kill who doesnt have a weapon will lower you rep. continue killing like this and you will have cowled wizards, knights and athkatla guards to contend with (if your in the city that is)
keep up the good work , they are easy to beat anyway

Killing an innocent gives a large decrease in reputation, but IIRC, killing a guard lowers your rep the most. Just donate money to a temple since money isn't hard to come by anyway.
