Hello Everyone, Am i going around the twist or what (dont answer that one) - I have just finished BG1, killed Saverok and the game ends. So i load the game back up to play the expansion pack. So i select Multiplayer - select mission pack and then it jumps me straight into loading one of my previous saved games. Please help and old man and tell me how i can play the expansion pack with my current characters.
Thankyou |

Simple. Install TOTSC, update your final save by using mission pack, turn back and don't fight Sarevok, visit the new areas, return to give the bad guy a beating. You'll have to walk all the way back though...

Yup, that's the way of it.
Once you kill Sarveok and want to go to new places in TotSC, you have to walk out of there. Its a long boring journey back up the thieves maze. |

You said you wanted to beat the new areas with your "current characters"....you mean the ones you took through the game with you, not the ones in the Mission Pack, right? I found that before any of the ToSC areas will appear on your map, you have to go to your Baldur's Gate directory and use the program called MCONVERT on all the saved gaves, Single Player or Multi, that you want to play ToSC with. Then, if you want to use your "current" characters, just load the Final Save game that gets created when you enter Sarevok's final lair. You get transported to Ulgoth's Beard, and the fun begins. Or load up the Mission Pack and you get the same thing, only with Edwin.

Thanks for that lads, Yes i do want to keep the same characters for TOSC & even when i go onto BG2. So i will give it a go.
Juat a little point on the tactics of the game, dont get me wrong i love the game however not being a AD&D player i dont know all the different spells which are good, but on any of the hardish guys the same tactic worked everytime. Get your cleric and mage to cast animal summoning a few times which surrounds the target - then simply blast with spells and arrows. It worked all through the game for me if i was stuck. Just thought they might of improved the AI to attack the party rather than the weak animals around it. What thought have you guys on this? Thanks Again Omeg@Red |

They fixed to a point in BG2. You can only have so many summoned monsters unfortunately.
