Last weak I found out that the maker of Arcanum "Troika Games" is going to bring a new RPG on the market, that might be better known in the US, but not in Europe.
Okay, do you think, that "Temple of the elementary evil" will outrun BG2 ? IMHO I think that it could be quiet interesting. I love BG2 and enjoyed Arcanum. The mixure of both sould be fantastic. Even if I had to confess that I never heard of D&D Version 3.5 ! |

NOTHING can compare to BG2 !
seriously though, the Temple of Elemental Evil could be pretty good!

For whatever reason, I was never really able to get into Arcanum. Don't know why, exactly-- many people really liked it-- but I just did not enjoy it much.
A game I really did like was... god, can't think what it was called...! It used the BG engine and was party based and the player's character was immortal and it all took place in hell or someplace and it rocked and why the f**k can't I remember the name? Anyway, I would like to see a follow up to that game!

You probably mean Planescape Torment, where you play the Nameless One.

ToEE has a forum if you'd like to see how it fares. It won't outdo BG2 for the same reasons IWD2 couldn't -- You can make all the fights, quests, treasures, monsters you want, but the NPC interaction of BG2 and PS:T is a whole different aspect that people really like.
BTW, KOTOR (a/k/a NWN with blasters and lightsabers) makes a few good jabs at NPC interaction and development. The game's too short to have the scope of BG, but it's good on this level. With some very funny lines. ![]() |

I downloaded the "Walkthrough" of ToEE - a video about 10 minutes long with explanations of programmeres and designers.
ToEE seems to use many fantastic ideas that BG wouldnŽt. e.g.: Giantfrog are able to swallow a whole character. While inside the monster he gets acid damage per rnd. or YouŽll be able to fool guards by wearing cloak of temple-novices u killes before. etc. I think I will order an US-imported version. |
