I'd like to know who here has downloaded/started BGT?
The TeamBG forum is somewhat slow and I hesitate to discuss bugs here because I don't want to interrupt regular SoA discussion if there's only two people playing BGT anyway.
So if you're playing BGT just reply and if you're stuck with some bug either let us start a discussion on that here or take it to TeamBG where it belongs

Hmm... I'll probably pick up TOB soon, then I can install BGT. Faceman, is it still kinda buggy, and do you have the newest version available. Also how long should a DSL/Broadband connection take to download the file? I've heard it's around 400MB in size. On a good download I run up to 250 KB per second.

I *would* be playing it if there were any way to download the bloody thing.

The irc method is nigh on useless, the server is always busy and a number of people are usually downloading it at all times.

The REALLY sad thing is that I'm willing to put up a mirror of the file on a website, and I just can't get hold of the thing to do so.

Bah

The BG1 part (I've done so far) has only little bugs and I found (or was told) an easy workaround for all of them if even necessary. This is of course if you're running the latest patch which is easy to download as all the patches (although big in filesize) are downloadable from a website.
My buglist, worst bugs first (light BG1 spoilers ahead):
-
-
-
-
-
-
+ Tazok won't initiate dialogue if you get to the Bandit Camp to "join them" - solution: attack him and you'll get the same treatment as if you had chosen the attack-option in the dialogue (i.e. he says that you are tough and let's you take a look around)
+ Shar-Teel will initiate combat with your best fighter but never give in (Ok you're tough I'll join you) even if beaten unconscious several times and has only 1hp left - solution: let her beat YOU up after you beat her up and she'll act as if you had beaten her.
+ One of a pair (e.g. Khalid/Jaheira) will whine that you killed the other one if you just kick him - fixed in latest patch
+ Xzars big picture doesn't fit the character screen frame
+ Yeslick has proficiencies in Axe (which he can't use as a cleric) and Blunt weapons (which don't exist in SoA engine) - solution: bah...not so bad anyway
+ some items (e.g. Sword of Balduran) are still marked as "Large Sword" with the old BG1 proficiencies
.
So you see not that bad. The transition from BG1 to BG2 is however still buggy and will get you in deep trouble in some situations (prologue not starting, can take Xzar and Montaron with you and still meet them in BG2,...) and I'm currently encountering some annoying bugs in BG2 (e.g. Viconia is missing).

a combination between ftp and IRC worked for me (hey that rhymes )
It can take really long (say a week) even with a good connection on ftp as you'll often lose connection and not get back in (too many users). IRC was faster for me but you have to be lucky to squeeze into a free download spot.

I got lucky as there was vitually nobody downloading when I got it on IRC. Try to post on the (preferably in the Methods of Distribution thread) If you offer a mirror maybe someone (or even Bardez himself will be willing to transfer you the file via IRC (letting you cut the queue) or by other means (e.g. ICQ).
You could also try to get it on eDonkey/Emule (a p2p-service). Some people have added the proper links for that on the board. Sadly edonkey never worked for me
If all this doesn't work for you I would be glad to send you the file over IRC or ICQ (would have to install it though). Sadly I only have the MarkI distribution which is 5*200megs in size (and needs all the patches) but is somewhat easier to install (no need of a BG1 installation and slightly easier installation instructions). So if everything else fails just PM me and I'll try to get that thing across to you

download the latest bgt_mark 3 file through FTP is really quite easy and "fast" (consider how many people are doing it at the same time). it took me less than a day to get the whole thing downloaded (around 690 MB). you can find trial version of FTP (that can resume downloading process) easily online.

I played BGT (still have it) and encountered one bug. In Cloakwood forests, when going to forest nr.4, the game exits to desktop. Had to use CLUA to get me to the area after forest nr.4 ...
