I am a bred-in-the-bone soloist, any party game I abandon for its boredoom - its too ....ing boring to look over even 3 party members, changing diapers, healing the scratches they are sure to die from So I am soloist...
But soloing lacks one thing - party interaction (how unexpected!!). And romance. So I wanted to make myself play a semi-party - my sorc (yeah, sorcerers rule! :hails sorcerers ![]() So I killed poor Aerie, left her corpse to rot forever right before the table in Copper Coronet, before the face of her to-be-lover (forgot the name of the man that tries to flirt with every female NPC) and forgot the idea.... maybe I ressurect her, tinker with the variables when my sorc gains power enough to protect her Has anyone played the same (I mean - two sorc) game, and what are the consequences on power as compared to soloing? One more ?: is Tashia romancable?? She would be the solution I long for...

Don't tell me that you could find no quest to solve and gain XP?
And why did you have to kill the poor lass? You could have left her with her uncle, you heartless Protoss... ![]() I have not played with two sorcerers, but have played with small parties, and I never had any problems with power (vice versa). You should have enough experience with the game not to have such problems, you surprised me.

There should be more than enough XP to get 2 sorcs to a decent level. And if you do have to take something at a lower level than normal, consider it a challenge.

Aerie has no power?!?! She is considered one of the, if not THE most powerful NPC in the game( assuming ToB is installed and no Mod-NPCs). She is possibly one of the few characters that can kill Bosses faster than a Sorcerer.
Mordenkainen's Swords are fine and dandy for your summoning needs, but they are gross overkill to use against the Planar Sphere Demons. Aerie can easily dispatch them with a few healthy dosage of Bolts of Glory and/or Holy Smite while using Skeleton Warriors to tank. Aerie can also supply the one spell that all Arcane Spellcasters sorely lack... Chaotic Commands. As your partner, Aerie will greatly enhance your Sorcerer's power... not dilute it. You just got to learn how to use her Clerical( and Mage) spellbook in conjunction with your Sorcerer's spells. |

OK, Dundee, I get it that Clerical spells are a worthy addition to my cause, but please explain, why the heck should I need Chaotic Commands?? SI is no longer on the charts??
If there only were a clerical spellcaster with sorcerer's flexibility.... I am a lazy man, so choosing spells to memorise is not exactly what I like most ![]() About Mordys vs SW+Aerie: IIRC, I will get my first lvl7 spell at level 14, and SWs can be summoned only at lvl15 Thats all And I strive to get the stronghold ASAP. Nevermind that with Aerie aboard I will get the desired level much later.... Any NPC, however strong it may be, suxx as compared to PC. "This is not to be contested, it seems logical enough" The thing in question now is: has anyone tried the 2 sorc party and what are the comments? ADD] And I was talking about low-level Aerie And as I am low-level now, I am not inerested in further power - it will surely be mine, all I need is to make a living now And man, its Tactics!! All great journeys start with a single step.
![]() Sorcerers have no defence against Psionics short of the Potion of Clarity. Aerie can fill in this pitfall. Chaotic Commands conveniently protects against Charm and Maze too... rendering the need to stack multiple Spell Immunities pointless. In short... she makes your Sorcerer more efficient. ![]() I find Aerie a great asset to have in an Insane Tactics Game. Her vast spellbook is a welcome contribution to the party, what with her Heals, Stoneskins, Dooms, Magic Missiles, Holy Smites, Melf's Acid Arrows, etc... to name a "few" level 1-3 useful spells. A solo Sorcerer is power, but a Sorcerer with a Cleric/Mage is virtually unkillable. Aerie can supply spells you normally ignore or choose to cast aside due to space constraints, especially the defensive ones like Free Action( replace that Ring of Free Action with something else for even more power!). ADD] Aerie can supply Death Ward too. A very valuable spell for your PC. [ 08-05-2003, 08:35 AM: Message edited by: Dundee Slaytern ] |

You lazy bum, of course she'll be low level when you get her, thats why you fight monsters, baddies and the like to level up!
Quote:
Aerie can load up a Spell Trigger (Stoneskin, PfMW, and why not, even Blade Barrier or Spell Shield) with Mage and Cleric spells for some good combos, plus because of her clerical class she can wield Crom Faeyr and a +5 Flail that is to be mentioned later in ToB, meaning she can make a hell of a spell caster and a front line tanker at that. You lazy person you Add: Dang it, I was hoping to post before you Dundee [ 08-05-2003, 08:41 AM: Message edited by: Gangrell ] |

Psionic-users I usually leave for the near end of ch3, the time when I gain Mordys, which mean absolutely NO trouble with psioners.... and I am on the offensive, do not forget
Possible MOD idea: a sorc-like cleric And what about all the party-unfriendly spells such as Sunfire which I cant use at large when I am not solo?? Block with MI?? Too expensive for non-sorc class... ADD] I hate melee.... too lazy to run up to the enemy, I suppose... they should die the instant I see them, not having an opporetunity to reach me even with arrows [ 08-05-2003, 08:44 AM: Message edited by: TaSSaDaR ]
