Is it possible to have a character who will use their healing spells to heal my party during combat? Which AI script would allow this to happen? So far, my wannabe healer isn't follower her AI script but instead gets involved in the fighting, I wouldn't mind but her reclessness nearly cost the lives of my other party members.
Any help is most welcome! |

That healing script should be working, have you activated it correctly and have you checked you actually have healing spells prepared?

The current script is cleric2, the description is what i want my character to do but she refuses. However, I may have an explanation. Because magic is illegal in the city, does that mean that my character has gone against the AI in order to uphold the law. If so I need to find somewhere where magic is not illegal in order to practice different AI scripts (hint, hint!)

Well..
Spoiler- - - - - - - - - - - - - - If you pay a Cowled Wizard representative in the Gov't. District's largest building 5,000 gold you get a license to cast magic in the city limits..unless you go postal on some citizens, they dont like that to much..hehe >=) |

Yes but this is only for Mages. Priests(Clerics,Druids) can cast a spell whenever they want.

Are you sure the Party Ai button in the lower right corner of your screen is turned on, and are you sure you selected the good script?

Is that the button next to the one that sellects all party members? or is it the button that selects (highlights) all party members?
If so it is at times like these when i wish that they had printed the manual themselves! - note - link to instruction manual thread |

i dont like using the ai scripts... especially the mage ones... they keep castin the same (most of the time high level) spell over and over until its all gone.... and if the monster dies before the spell is complete... its a casting failure! and changing scripts to standard attack makes them bloodthirsty and its REALLY hard to control them

In my opinion, using a "Priest Healer" script is a bad idea, as most of the healing spells take a LONG time to cast, so you're essentially
1) Wasting time healing 8 hp of damage, instead of attacking the monster that's banging on Minsc's head for 20 hp each hit 2) Running right into the thick of combat and just begging to have your spell Disrupted. Save your Healing spells until after the dust has settled; healing during fights is what Potions are for. The little button in the bottom-right of your screen (the one that looks like a lantern) is what turns your AI on/off. I never use any AI script that tells my people to cast spells--I'll make those decisions myself, thank you. I don't need Nalia wasting her only ADHW for the day on a Skeleton Warrior. I just put my whole party on the "Standard Attack" AI and leave them there. As for the spellcasting ban: - Wizard spells (those cast by Mages, Sorcerers, & Bards) are illegal and will attract the Cowled Wizards, whether they are cast from memory or a Scroll. - Wands of the exact same spells, however, will not. - Wizard spells are only off-limits in the city of Athkatla, and then only when cast outdoors. Also, the Grayeyard District and all of the Waylay areas somehow do not come under the spellcasting ban. - Priest spells (those cast by Clerics, Druids, Paladins & Rangers) are perfectly OK and can be cast anywhere. (Question: What about the Wizard spells, such as Haste, cast by a Stalker? Must test this.) - The Cowled Wizards only object to people in YOUR party casting Wizard spells. Everyody else on the entire freaking planet can cast whatever they want. If you got attacked by a swarm of crazed Wild Mages from another plane, the Cowls wouldn't even care--although I somehow doubt that these Wild Mages took the time & trouble to procure a Spellcasting License before they ambushed you.
