On the top level of candlekeep the gatewarden tells me to meet some fellow in the outergrounds. I can't find him. Who and where is he?

 First of all, have you just started teh game, or are you back in Candlekeep after doing some of Baldur's Gate? HI NEWUSER.
If you have just started the game then you should really do what this game is all about. Which is have an adventure, TALK to people, rob anything you can get your hands on. and get in battles where you just escape with your life. |

He's not "just starting a game" if he said he was "On the top level of Candlekeep."
Badger, don't worry about finding this guy....he already spoke to you. He was standing right about where Imoen was waiting, way back in the Prologue. You couldn't get past HER without her talking to you, and it's the same with this guy. He's not important anyway. What might be more important is that you haven't been arrested yet. It's difficult to make it to the top floor of the Keep without getting in trouble with the law, and not getting arrested is bad, because it's a MAJOR factor in moving the plot along. If you seem to be above the law here, you should either a) Let us know, so we can help, or b) Go rob some banks. ------------------ You know what I always say? I zipped through a couple of walkthroughs and they all said that the gatewarden is supposed to arrest me. I have tried everything from killing the iron throne leaders to getting caught stealing and still the little weasle won't arrest me! Anybody out there have any idea to solve my dilema?

Oh, icky. A few other folks here have posted about being immune to arrest, and it is a big problem, though I don't know what they did to fix it. You should try patching and/or re-installing, though you might just want to wait to hear from someone who's experienced the bug firsthand.
