Is the adamite dust (desintegrated drow stuff) good for anything?

You can snort the magical dust and it makes your characters bones stronger.

No in-game effect unfortunately.

However, there is a way to avoid losing the Drow equipment when you leave the underdark. I'm not going to tell you how to do it, and I hope nobody else spoils you outright on it (a forum search will give you the answer really want it). Just think about ways around it, if you get it on your own it'll be a more rewarding bug exploit

I know about the way with using Jahira, but for me she's dead, so I tried to send away other charachters, but they would not go ayay.

If theres other way of cheating in this metter feel free to spoil it. I'm away from underdark already and not planing to return (the drow atuff sucks anyway). Just might be cool to know.

Well yes... but you can always use the drow elven chain, which permits spellcasting. Thats pretty neat

Leave the underdark. Pause the game the instant you get control and reform party. Quickly, kick one person with all of the weapons/armour etc that would otherwise turn to dust. Go through the dialogue with the elves and agree to help out. Talk to the person you kicked, and agree to meet them back at the copper coronet/wherever.

It's that simple, and it does work. Even with the Baldurdash fixpack (though there is no reason that would fix it...)

Nope. Baldurdash does indeed fix it. http://www.baldurdash.org/buglist.html Best way to find that particular fix is search for the word "drow" on the page, and look for a black-boxed entry.

Another way would be:
Drop all the items as soon as you emerge. When finished with talking, arrange your party in a long row. First person should be over the items, and the last at the map edge. Pass the items along and drop them again at the border. Gather your party, pick up items, and quickly leave.

It should be noted at this point that even if you keep the Drow items with these tricks the game checks for them again including at the start of TOB and there is no way to get around it this time. IMO it is pointless to keep them as you will only be able to use them outside the underdark for a very short time and anyway besides that it's cheating.

[/QUOTE]It may very well SAY it fixes it, but it doesnt. I just loaded up a game to check this one out, and Haer'Dalis has all of the drow goodies I loaded him up with.

Lucky me eh

n.b. Baldurdash, most recent patch, Imoen Romance, Tactics, Imp. Items, ToB.

There is a way to get around the ToB loss of items, but who cares? They are good, but it isn't worth the bother, to be frank.
