I once had a friend begin attacking him and was doing damage, however, by the time several hours had passed and Ulcaster wasn't dead yet he came to the conclusion that it was impossible...

It seems weird that Ulcaster would be that way when you can do some other things that you shouldn't be able to by killing people that you aren'y supposed to. For instance that theif in Baldurs Gate 2 that has the one hit kills sword. It is possible to beat him, and without cheating. Also, Tazok at the bandit camp you can kill, but have to be really manipulative to do so. Why wouldn't Ulcaster be the same?

You can kill Ulraunt, too....takes a while, though, and you need a good Cleric to repair the damage. The manual says Ulraunt carries a Staff of Power, but turns out it's just an ordinary quarterstaff.....just felt I had to try it, though.
![]() I've heard that it's possible to kill Elminster, too, but you need the Wand of Polymorphing and a HUGE slice of luck. Oh, yeah.....anyone here ever beaten Scar? I tried & tried, but the only thing that really worked on him was my Ring of Energy....which ran out of charges, of course. SPOILER - - - - - - I'd like to see the Doppelganger that assassinated HIM. Im Ertai, i edited to mark this big spoiler. Sorry but i think it was necessary, thanks ![]() [This message has been edited by SixOfSpades (edited 09-29-2001).] [This message has been edited by Ertai_OHF (edited 09-29-2001).] |

SixofSpades, there is a spoiler in your previous message, you wrote that:
SPOILER - - - - - - - - - Scar is assassinated by a doppelganger. Would you mind editing your post to add the SPOILER heading? ------------------ ![]() ![]() Kazara Sapphire Dragoness of ALSB Waitress at Cloudy's Cafe Guardian of the Temple of Aerie (specialized in GenCon and BG) Most Illustrious Arch-Magess of the Illuminati Lux omnis est |

It's ok, I don't mind.....I just didn't think it was neccesary, as the whole dang _topic_ seems to deal with that sort of thing. I don't think any newbie reader would feel cheated out of part of the game's intricacy by reading that post.

Well, I was very shocked when Scar died. I wouldn't have liked to know beforehand. Plus, better to be safe than sorry, or? Better to mark it as a spoiler although it's not a very big one than not mark it as one and spoiling part of the game for a newbie.
