Little tower in Larswood?

I'm on my way to the bandit camp and there is this little tower in the middle of Larswood. It's really small and there's no way in. Is it just for show or did I miss someone's little side quest?

Another problem - Branwem died and I raised her but she didn't have all the awsome stuff I gave her. I made sure to check the area before I left. Sometimes the stuff is on the floor and sometimes it's not. What's up with that? She had on +2 chainmail, that great warhammer from Bassalis, and guantlets of dex. My three charactors don't need the stuff; but, that's some of the best stuff in the game. At least I could have sold it. I'm kicking ass with my elven fighter/theif ( 19 dex + 19 ch ), dwarven tank ( 20 con ), and a elven cleric/mage ( I never see anyone mention this combanation - a zillion spells ).Branwen was complaining all the time anyway ( 20 rep ). Are there any more non-evil NPCs left? I've gone through all of the ones you meet early on. Thanks in advance.

Yep, I think the tower is just for show.

How 'badly' did Branwen die? I think sometimes if they explode their stuff goes too - but wait, you said you raised her, so she can't have been too bad. Hmm, I don't know...

As for good NPCs - have you met Ajantis yet? He's a Paladin so Lawful Good natch'. He's in the area North of the Friendly Arm where they have the Ankheg hunt. There's also Yeslick a fighter/cleric imprisoned at the bottom of the Cloakwood Mine. I think he was good.

I think there are some good NPCs inside the city of Baldur's Gate, but I never used any of them in my party so I'm not sure of their alignment.

I use elven cleric/mage and am planning to import to BG2 with ToB. Don't know if you can make it with only 3 chars though.

Yea, I just picked up the dwarf in the mines. I like him a lot. I gave him some plate mail I was carying around for cash. I also had +1 morning star for him. I can also pick up the paladin afterwards. I don't need his ch. My guy has 19.
