This might be a totally stupid question but, I'll ask anyway. I have a 20/23 fighter/mage (not hacked), but i love the look of a elf mage. if i use SK to edit him to appear as an Elf Mage, that isn't cheating is it? I know it probably isn't but i just want to make sure

As long as you use the "Characteristics --> Appearance" and not the "Characteristics --> Race" why not? IMO, the main program should have let you select the on-screen appearance, not just the portrait, anyhow.

Since it involves the use of the CLUA console and/or a 3rd-party program such as Shadowkeeper, yes, it is technically cheating. But is it cheesy or even the least bit unfair? Certainly not. Playing with your avatar is more for "fun" reasons than anything else, and nobody's going to think anything less of you for it. But note that there are some avatars that are NOT fair: The "Shadow Thief" sprite-set, for example, moves twice as fast as a normal character, so giving yourself that avatar is equivalent to hacking yourself the Boots of Speed--and still having your Boot slot free.

But Male Elven Mage? Sure, go right ahead.

Nah, it's not cheating, I even tried something similar to that as well. Made my wild mage have the appearence of a Lich, was pretty fun at first but they are slow at casting spells... even when I had boots of speed on him [img]graemlins/uhoh1.gif[/img]

Strictly speaking, it IS cheating because you are manipulating the game with a third party unauthorized software. Less strictly speaking, this kind o manipulating gives you no advantage and it does not interfere with the game anyhow. Therefore, you need not feel guilty of cheating and fear that your achievments in the game are, in fact, achievments of the Shadowkeeper.
