Em well any help or suggestions here would be greatly appreciated!
I recently formatted my hard drive in order to install windows xp - backed up all my BG Saved games and TOB - then wiped it. Now only to discover when i went to reinstall the games - my TOB Cd had a minor crack in it - hadnt used it in ages as i had the No cd patch - and cant reinstall the game - i can copy almost all the files from the Cd to the hard drive except 2 or 3 but i cant initiate the Setup file at all?
Anybody - preferrably with some wonderful ideas as how to get these files i need - (other than buying the game again as i'm broke) would help me out as i need to finish this game
Thanks
Me

I assume you have the orginal cd of ToB, you could email/send/ring BlackIsle/Bioware for them to send you a new copy of the cd... this is possible with BG II so. It should also work for ToB I think

Exactly what happened to my BGII Disc 3... It was scratched and I managed to copy most files except 3 or four. My solotuion was to contact a friend who had baldurs gate II and had him send the files that was corrupted. Then I burnt a new cd with the exact same structure as the original cd, I did a full install and voila I could play BGII again.

As for getting a replacement disc - is this possible? - I've had this CD for more than a year - is there a warranty?

After a year, you're definitely out of any warranty period, however, you should still be able to get a replacement cd. You will have to pay a replacement fee plus shipping and handling.

Once, I had a CD for a playstation game with a crack on one side. I went to a nearby game store, and they resurfaced the disc, and I haven't had problems with it since. If it's just on the underside of a disc, go to a game store (funcoland, EB, gamestop, etc.) and get it resurfaced. I don't think that it costs any money.

On a shadier note, you can try to get a cracked version online from one of the many file-sharing programs out there. Try ~~, I've found it a few times before. You already HAVE the disk, it's not like you you're taking any money away from them...

most of the copy's on the i-net and on file-sharing programs like kazaa ect.. are corrupted or incomplete... I would go for an replacement cd or a copy of ToB from a friend or so, that is legal because you already bought the original in a store, you are allowed to have 2 copy's for back-up means.

Downloading it from the internet is:

1: illegal
2: it takes a hell of time if you do not have a fast connection.
3: why bother if you can have a replacement cd for about 4 or 5 $.

ryan, that's piracy and is illegal on here, same as asking for a NWN CD key 'cause you have a dl'd version. Sorry

My CD2 is curreently broken and so am getting replacement. It's pretty good, £5.
