Umar Questions - and Thief Guild

Well, since I have the all-strongholds patch, I guess I'll say JAN got the theives guild. ANyway, we get to Umar and after the 1st night's rest we're supposed to go back and tend to our "collections" there.

How long do I have?? If I go fight the Shade Lord first will I lose the guild? My journal makes it sound like I will.

Plus, what are the options w/ Valygar? I'm a Kensai, so there aren't really enough magic katanas to make him useful. I have 6 in my group, and don't want to ditch the one "transient" spot (Nalia) until I get her funeral quest triggered. So, can I kill Valygar? Note that I am LN and my party is generally Good.

Did it say your thieves had returned from their assignments or that Renal's collector was waiting for payment? If the former then I don't think it matters. If the latter, then IIRC you have 3 or 4 days to get back, but I'm not absolutely sure about that. Anyway, it won't hurt to make a quick trip back.

If you want to keep Valygar consider the spear, which he is proficient in. There are a couple of decent ones available, and if you have the "Item Upgrades" mod installed they get even better. I generally don't use Val very much - just to get into the Planar Sphere.

i think you have 5 days, but from when you pay not from when the sign comes up. I'd head back and pay. You proably only have about a day and if you rest you will lose it. It makes shadows over soubar very annoying. I keep having to lug every body back to pay aran and then it takes 3 days just to get to the river.

Well, since I haven't slept once since the "Pay" sign came up, I'm gonna try to go do the Shade Lord dungeon first, I think.
