What up with people explodnig around me!?!

Okay, one day, I go into the Copper Coronet, and Yoshimo is there (I had previously tossed him outta my party) , and he promptly explodes. No explaination, he says nothing...just there--then BLAM!!!

Short while later, I go to the Vulgar Monkey, I walk in, and this guy yells about my being a Bhaalspawn and gets smoked out of the blue by what appears to be one of those "draw upon holy might" gray cones, blows up and dies.

So, what THE HELL is going on...is it just me? Or is it a bug.
I think probably the Monkey encounter was less likely to be a bug since there was a dialogue, but is it supposed to lead to some sort of quest that I haven't picked up on???

if you've completed spellhold with yoshimo, youd know

he was there to betray you, under penalty of death. If you left him in the CC, he obviously didn't complete his mission, so he dies (i.e. gets chunked in front of you...kinda nice, i hate traitors)

the other guy has no point that i know of (though i've received some hints that there's a reference to it in ToB)

the guy in the vulgar monkey is a link to TOB and all will be explained when you begin that game

Whats the story with the exploding guy in the trademeet tavern anyway, and is there one in the Vulgar Monkey too? I can't remember... or are they the same guy just depending on which you go to first?

Same guy. Name of Viekang. And he didnt exactly explode. You'll meet him again in time, down in Tethyr. In Throne of Bhaal in other words, and he will explain.
