You should try out the Bodhi side if you have already done the Shadow thief side, just for fun.
If you are playing any type of good character, however, you might consider it out of character to team up with a vampiric assassin's cult. Sidenote: joining Bodhi ought to come with a rep loss high enough to turn a Paladin into an Anti-Paladin IMHO.

If you side with Bhodi, you can`t get the Shadowthieves help in Chapter 6.
BUT, you do get that Elven Chain the Aran is wearing... |

You mean, fallen paladin.
From a roleplaying point of view, you know only that Bodhi wants to eradicate the greatest thieves guild sout of Waterdeep. Why would that be evil? A new player, who doesn't know Bodhi is a vampire, doesn't deserve losing his paladinhood, IMHO. Joining Bodhi brings no less profit than joining thieves.

Which side you should choose also depends on who is in your party as some characters don't like it if you side with Bodhi and will leave your party, Mazzy and Keldorn IIRC and maybe some others. Choosing Bodhi is really meant for evil characters so if your evil definetly do it if not it may be out of character for a good character if your roleplaying.

Well, alignment wise, most evil characters would not side with Bhodi either.
Lawful Evil folks would rather work with a well established, well networked, well entrenched agency, like the Shadow Thieves for instance. Their sense of order would never allow them to fall prey to Bhodi's offers of creating chaos. So, no dice for them either. Nuetral Evil folks would also turn Bhodi down 99% of the time. It's all about profit. Let's face it, a rival young upstart guild does not have much in the way of riches. The Shadow Thieves are a sure bet. A safe bet. However, and I know it does not happen in SoA, but, should the balance of power shift, a NE character would be the first to jump ship to gain profit. For them, it's all about the gold pieces and getting ahead. Bhodi's small pathetic excuse for an upstart guild really has nothing at all to offer them. So they would indeed, tell the vampire queen to bugger off. Chaotic Evil folks would side with Bhodi about 50% of the time. It's what ever they felt like doing when ever they felt like doing it. However, this does not mean they would side with the Shadow Thieves either. A real CE character would probably side with niether, but, rather, play both sides against the other just to watch the power play. But you really don't have this option in game. It is impossible to predict what this sort of person would do, as even he himself does not know his own motives, as he probably has none. Heck, he might be temped to create his own guild just to be petty, but, then he might end up selling candy to children just because it is profitable and quite confusing to his enemies as to why did he just do that. |

I always chose bodhi as both Neutral and Chaotic Evil.
knowing my own potential, and seeing that the vampires could easily defeat any shadow thief on the streets at night, as NE I thought that would be my best bet. With me joining the vampires would be unbeatable by the shadow thieves, making it the best bet. Further more, Bodhi seemed to be in control of the situation, very clever girl; keeping my enemies closer than my friends. As Chaotic neutral I also saw the vampires' power, more powerfull than the shadowthieves .. so basically more death --> yippeee
