Thats's right !!
We want *YOU(r)* story

Im talking about the Improved Torgal as included by the solafain-romance ...
I'm not very happy 'bout how i defeated him :

I launched 3 webs into the room, from a distance .. then let my archer kill every visible troll / Umberhulk elder he could see.
I then rested ...
Again launching webs into the room, 4 this time .. and killed the last remaining Elder, apparently Torgal spawned at the Elder-point, so he could only move when i defeated the Elder. Newayz ..
I go charging in .. i was never really succesfull in hitting him, even with 24 strenght on everyone (potions) , only my archer could get some hits in.
But this time, against the odds .. Torgal failed both his Magic Resistance And his save, so he got stuck in the web. At which point every hit was an auto-hit and he died rather quikly

Party
Me - cleric-ranger lvl 9/9
Fighter-mage lvl 9/10
Archer lvl 10

I found my fight to be a bit cheesy ( with the resting and launching webs + the stuck Torgal )

So i was interested in how your party defeated his bunch ...
I'm especially interested about Dundee's solo sorcerer ...
('cause you cant aim spells directly at Torgal )

But you can nail him with Area of Affect spells.

Anyway, to my tactic.

I was at a fairly low level, ~10/11.
It took me one or two reloads, but it was worth it! (I was playing on Insane).
It was a long time ago... I can't remember what party i was playing...

I did not buffed at all before the fight. This will make sense... Read on.
I located my party in the very beginning of the Great Hall, so he can't see me.
I loaded EVERY Mage in my party (usually 3 Mages) with Minor Sequencer containing x2 Web. I casted Farsight, hasted my Mages, and sent them forward.
One of them had the little "small talk" with Tor'Gal, and once the dialogue ended, they ALL fired their Sequencers.
Everybody except a few Umber Hulks were Held.
I then started to summon ALL the spiders i had.
My Mages retreated to the rest of the party.
I tried to make sure that in every second i had 5 spiders going. If one of them died, i summoned another.
With 5 spiders concentrating their Firepower on one enemy, no one lasted long - their poison finished of Trolls and disrupted the Yaun Ti's spellcasting.
I was out of spiders, but it almost over now - My party Vs. Tor'Gal and 2 Spirit Trolls.
Now, I buffed my heart out. If i would've buffed before, most of the spells would expire by now.
Tor'Gal was actually the weakest link here. He's a mean melee fighter, but he is as smart as Minsc is... Have one character hasted, and with a good supply of Oils of Speed. Have him focus on it, and just keep runing.
The Spirit Trolls are TOUGH. They cast many nasty spells which hurt my party badly. They are also untargetable - i had no True Sight.
After many summons and carefully aimed Skull Traps, they died.
Now, it was us Vs. Tor'Gal. He is in full health, and still chasing my bait.
I casted all the Slow spells i had until one of them nailed him. Slow is wonderful here - it makes him less dangerous, and halves his regeneration rate!
I focused all my Firepower on him. I think he killed one of my mages eventually (since my tactics was based on the Spiders, i only memorized 1 Stoneskin with each of the Mages, and because i played on Insane, 0 Stoneskin means 99% Game Over for the Mage...), but after a few minutes of Summons bashing him, he died.
'Twas a glorious fight, no doubt.

This is a good place to give Westley Weimer the credit he deserves. Well done Wes, and keep up the good work!

Nice ... i stopped using summon after 2 reloads .. if my ranger with a -1 THAC0 could only hit the bastard once in a while, and my fighter/cleric with righteous magic and such even less .. what's a (normal) skeleton gonna do ?

Noticed the determination of Tor'gal yeah

P.s. Does Web stop his regeneration .. or was it just his relatively low HP ?
He died within 2-3 rounds once he got stuck ..

EDIT: I'll just be hiding in that dark corner overthere
*points really far away* if Tor'gal comes at me at Insane

Take a few blows intead of you.

A Spider, however, is even useful offensively. It'll will always hit, because the target is held and he is not.
Ahh, the joys of Web.

It's the little things like that which makes battles easier.
Tactics are everything. Really.

I can't really say, but from what i know about the Infinity Engine, it should.

LOL!
For me, Insane means twice the damage, four times the fun.

Yes, i AM a mazochist...

It is a fun battle, isn't it?
It requires creative thinking and non trivial solutions.

I did nothing as fancy as you guys, I always forget he's there until he speaks up. But when he does, I just have my whole party attack him at once and pretty soon he's gone.

First of all -
Welcome to Ironworks, The Lilacor!

Second, are you talking about the Improved Tor'Gal from the de'Arnise Keep (which comes with the Sola Mod), or the regular one?

I just dont have the patience for Insane .. It'll mean i have to micro-manage everything more. Watch cash flows, so i can buy relevant spells, potions and so on. Ah ... I just convinced myself to switch to insane, it actually sounds fun now, maximizing powerlevel ( ok, so I watch Dragon Ball Z )

... I bet you secretly planned this Alson, damn you for making me think
Hmm, maybe start off one lower than Insane ... It wouldnt feel right to submit to such an evil and devious plot all the way ( kind of like vegeta in the Majin Buu saga ... awh DBZ again )

I am playing around with IWD now actually. Making AI scripts and all that. I have a solo Sorcerer(lvl 13) in De'Arnise Keep though. I have not reached Torgal yet, and I might even postpone it until I reach lvl 15.

Ladies vs Smelly Beasts this was fought several weeks ago)
--------

Carlo Sanciona, Cavalier( er... lvl 9, 10 or 11? Can't remember now)
Mazzy( ah... lvl... er... 11? 12?)
Aerie( urm... ...)
Viconia( lvl 12 I think... coz I summoned an Aerial Servant)
Jaheira( she had Insect Plague, that is all that matters )

Imoen was trapped in Spellhold and unavailable for service. Nalia was deemed not fit to join the party. Fought on Insane Difficulty. Took me about 7-8 reloads I think, or more.

I got lucky and Jaheira managed to conjure two Fire Elementals, an Aerial Servant from Viconia, and Woodland Beings from Jaheira again.

Everybody gets Chant, Resist Fear, Protection from Evil 10' Radius, Potions, etc... As a last touch, Haste on everybody.

Sanciona wielded The Sword of Chaos for the life-leech, Mazzy backed her up with the Arbane's Short Sword while the rest were all assigned to cast spells. The summons barraged in first and when the enemy came into contact, Jaheira casted Insect Plague to screw up their spellcasting.

For six glorious rounds, the Umber Hulk Elders, Spirit Trolls and Yuan-Ti Mages were rendered impotent. Torgal got blocked by the sea of bodies and a couple of Skull Traps ensured that the Yuan-Ti Mages would never live to cast a single spell.

To cut a long story short, the constant barrage of blows from the summons including some replacement spiders ensured that the fight whittled down to only Torgal... Sanciona had to literally attach an IV Drip to her veins for all the Potions of Extra Healing that she drank though.

Sanciona was also designated the pointlady and she led Torgal in a merry-go-chase around the other party members and eager spiders as they slowly but surely reduced his life until at long last... he croaked and died.

Frustrating at first, but extremely satisfying once accomplished.
