I am going back to school right after obtaining one certificate in computer generalist studies to obtain another certificate. I am aiming to take as many of these certificates as I feel are necessary to get me into a career that I enjoy more than what I do now and hopefully make a more comfortable income. I was given choices such as Helpdesk, Cisco, Linux, Network Security, and Web tech. I want to also obtain my A+, but have been lazy on studies lately.
![]() Anyway, the one I decided to go with is Information Security, focusing on Cyber Crime. One of my first two classes focuses on securing and obtaining evidence from a computer considered part of a crime scene. I think it will be exciting. Maybe this will lead me on the right path to make something of myself someday.

Good for you! That field will always be in demand, and probably have steady growth. Are you thinking about working in law enforcement? Will you get to talk to or hear from local law enforcement who do it for real? Even if your classes don't schedule anything like that, I'll bet you could call the police department on your own, explain what you're studying, and you could interview one of the officers in that department. You might make a contact that could help you land a job later, or at least meet someone who could mentor or offer advice. Anyway, good luck with it!

Computer forensics is a good choice. The crystal gazers also recommend Network Security certs. It also appears that Apple will squander their chance for more market share by choosing to stay in a niche. So think about an MCSE also.
