Default RIP Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze succumbs to pancreatic cancer

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into viewers’ hearts with “Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.

Fans of the actor were saddened to learn in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from a particularly deadly form of cancer.

My god, I thought he was doing better too. Sad news, loved him in "Ghost".

Live large, and make the most of life. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort.

I grieve.

Absolutely tragic. We've only just got that series he made, with an Aussie in it. I can't remember what it is called, something like The Beast. Awful. He was a great actor.

Loved his movies and very sorry to hear this. Everything I've heard about him says he was a great guy and he loved his craft. They say he avoided his pain treatments to make that last series, because he didn't want to be loopy while filming.

Yeah I remember reading he had gained some weight and was doing a little better. I even remember hearing they were going to make another season of The Beast and include him in it as well. He was a good guy and fought a really tough battle. Really sorry to hear.
