Howdy V(F)E,
The name matches the game, methinks ![]() They'll try anything. It's gone from thousands of dollars, to hundreded of thousands, to millions. Millions I say !!!! Millionssssssssssss...preciousssssssssss...... ![]() ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Iraq: A soldier in need of your help! From: ***** ********(************************) Sent: Tuesday, 2 June 2009 5:42:25 AM To: Hi there, Sgt. ***** ******** here, a US soldier serving in the peace keeping mission in Iraq. I am in dire need of your assistance. I am making a concealed request to you for an assistance to move some funds (totaling US$5.5 Million) for safe keeping. I am left with no option; I am on the internet trying to establish contact with the outside world, to seek a reliable and trusted person. The money in question was discovered in some barrels at a farm house near one of Saddam's old palace in Tikrit-Iraq during a rescue operation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2988455.stm I took some of it for ourselves before disclosing my findings. You'd probably wonder why, but no compensation can make up for the risk we have taken with our lives in this hell called Iraq. I am sincerely hoping you are a reliable person who can be of help to me. I should be returning back to the US after our assignment here in Iraq elapses. I am proposing 20% of the entire sum to you for your cooperation and assistance. Importantly, I plead that this information be kept confidential. I have been able to get the money out of Iraq in a box to a temporary location through our colleague here who is with the British Army. The content of the box was undisclosed. Expecting a positive response. Please respond via (***********************) Regards, Sgt. ***** ******** US Military, 1st Battalion Infantry Regiment. I have to say, Kezardin, best spelling in a scam email I have ever seen. The grammar is better, but still needs work.
I also don't know anyone who joined the military for the pay. So the motive for keeping the money seems a little less than likely. Besides that, will they be sending the money in Iraqi currency or US dollars? Why would Sadam have money in barrels outside of a farmhouse? Does Iraq even have land fertile enough to support farming?

agreed, they're getting better at the grammar. Maybe the loot is supposed to be part of all that reconstruction money that has gone missing. Not sure if the country can support much in agricultural terms - but the hole where Saddam was found was on a sheep farm, I think. Shades of Little Bo Peeper ![]() And sometimes, the money just falls into your lap..... http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegrap...001028,00.html |
