Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
Hi guys.
This is probably a stupid question, but I can't work out how to craft items. In particular, I want to enchant weapons (fairly early in the game, so I haven't found many good ones yet). I have the right recipies in the books in my first character's inventory. The party mage has craft magical items feats, and I have the right amount of money. The mage meets the minimum caster level requirements. But. Clicking on the table does nothing, clicking on the recipes does nothing... And I can't work out how to enchant things. Can anyone tell me where I have gone wrong? Cheers DS

Re: Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
Enchanting: click on the recipe, and then on the receiving armor/weapon. Note that (for now) any worn item as far as I know can be enchanted. You can give boots dodge AC bonus, amulets natural ac, etc.
Crafting: you need to have the proper recipe ingredients in inventory. Stand next to the bench and click on the recipe.

Re: Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
The error messages are actually fairly helpful with SoZ crafting.
1) If you aren't close enough to the right bench it will tell you 2) If you don't have the proper spell memorized it will tell you 3) If you don't have the right ingredients it will tell you that you are missing something but the ingredient it tells is missing may NOT be correct. 4) If your caster level or skill rank isn't high enough, it will tell you As jrKasperov said, (1) to enchant an item simply open the enchantment recipe book, left click on the recipe - then target the cursor to the item you want to enchant and apply the enchantment, (2) to create an item, open the recipe book and click on the recipe and the item is made all required components are automatically removed from inventory. If any of the required components are in a magic bag, you may have to remove them first before the recipe will recognize that you have them

Re: Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
Only thing I can add is that the recipe book and the item to be enchanted have to be in the same inventory.
If all the other conditions are met, left click on the recipe and you should get a coloured (purple to my eyes) symbol which you can drag to and click on the item to be enchanted. Not all casters can enchant. Warlocks have to take another feat (imbue?) and I think there may be problems with class based casters such as Spirit Shaman. |

Re: Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
I get no symbol come up I can drag across.
Doe the character with the book in her inventory have to have crafting feats? Because I can't move the book from her bag, a diffeent character has the crafting, and I was lead to beleive it doesnt matter who has the feats.

Re: Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
Edit - My mistake. I have done it now. Thanks for the help guys.
One last thing or two - to get a +2 enchantment, do I have to do two +1, or find a +2 recipe? And how many enchantments can you have on a weapon? Oh woo, Elder Orbs.

Re: Storm of Zehir Crafting Help
Quote:
3 enchantments total - that includes special properties from exotic materials such as adamantine and darksteel. Once you have 3 enchantments you can't upgrade existing enchantments. No, the character with the books does not have to have the necessary feats. Feats, spells, and ingredients are all checked party wide. Warlocks Imbue Item should work but it doesn't. It's the same issue that occured with MotB and the OC. AFAIK, spirit shamans and favored souls should be able to craft without any problem as long they have the appropriate feat.
