Help! Game Freezes Up Leaving Brimloch Roon Post Skull Castle!

heh, tried to explain the entire post in the subject. I have just finished the Skull Castle and returned to Brimloch Roon to sell and all that junk, and as soon as I left the town and saved, the game froze up on me, i've tried what seems like hundreds of times now and it still freezes up as soon as I load the game, I have yet to download the patch(I kinda like the idea of infinite money hehehe)So I was wondering if maybe I should download it or not, or if it will help my situation. Please Help! Thanks

Can you load your previous save without any problems? Or any of your other saves without problems?

Not certain why it should choose to freeze at this particular point. You can try running the patch but something is making me wonder if there isn't something wrong with that particular save file.
How's your computers memory? What's your hardware? Are you running in software mode?

You could send me a zipped copy and let me take a look at it.

I ran into the same problem until I realized that you cannot wear the Vampire Ring you got in Skull Castle without the patch. Just a guess, but if you brought the ring back, and then equipped it, that would account for the freezing up.

Since my parties (I have played several times) always have someone with the ability to create rings or armor that regenerates, I have never found the ring worth it.

If you are in the town, you can go to the Temple and have them uncurse the character to get the ring off and you shouldn't freeze up any more. If that doesn't work, go with Wyvern's plan.

Thanks a Million Guys!!!!!!
The game was freezing up within seconds of me loading it. Thankfully I was standing less than 2 feet from the Gates of Brimloch Roon, and I managed to turn around and enter the town, get that dang ring taken off, and continue my game! I had almost lost interest in playing due to that bug, really ticked me off, but thanks to you guys i'm playing again, and just completed Anephas's Shrine moments ago! Can't wait to show Cet who the real man is!
