I mean I'm soloing as an assassin and intead of just being happy sneaking by a group of beholders or adamantine golems i NEED to go back and kill them all. I dont know why. theyre tough enemies and its so so easy to just sneak by them and leave them alone, but I just have to kill them, and Im not happy until theyre dead. does anyone else feel the same way?

As Jan says, "is there equipment about?"

Greed, my friend. Maybe there are some goodies. Although unlikely in a golem's case.

Maybe you are a barbarian in an assassin's body. You need a character-change operation.

Because they looked at you funny?

Its as good a reason as any, especially if hacking the critters to pieces is fun... I myself like to leave no enemy remaining.

Well, if you would really role-play your character, then sneaking past them is the best thing at that. I remember a poster from BGDungeon who soloed the game with an Assassin and finished the entire game with only 35 kills or something.

I played a mage for a bit with terrible stats for giggles. 4 str, 7 con, 8 dex. Elven enchanter I believe and I found myself being happy to of just knocked an enemy out with a spell and run away.
