I was just wondering what people on here thought about this? Is kobe Guilty of Felony sexual assault, or is this just a case of a young girl looking for attention?

A lot has been said about this case thus far from both parties that make it an interesting he said, she said type case. First Kobe claims "you know me, I would never do anything like that." Then you have the tearful press conference with Kobe exclaiming that he 'just' committed adultery, and that that was something he had to answer for to his god and his wife. Which appears that Kobe is changing his story, and trying to look like a victim. Then information surfaces about the alleged victim. First of all she went by herself to Kobe's room at 11PM. She was a wanna-be American idol contestant, she ODed on pain pills and the latest was that at a party a few days before the DA annouced their decision to press charges, she was "bragging" about the incident, and seemed in good spirits about it. All of those could lead you to believe that she was looking for attention, and that Kobe is a victim in this girl's quest for fame. Sadly the true facts of this case may very well never be known, but Kobe will stand trial on these charges that the DA feels that he can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. I just wanted to get some people's opinions on this case and leave it open for discussion for those on both ends of the spectrum.

My opinion on this whole thing is, no matter the outcome of this trial, Kobe will come out unharmed. probably a few million dollars in fines, and that's it.

It's obviously quite a stunt to get famous athletes convicted. Look at O.J. All the evidence was there, yet still he walked away. It's quite possible that if the judge puts Kobe in jail, the black community is going to make a lot of noise, and i don't think the government can use that right now.

I certainly would not presume to pronounce on the guilt or innocence of two total strangers. I barely know whom Kobe Bryant is, so I'll be content to leave it to the courts.

I also would not presume, but in the absence of witnesses and/or physical evidence, I would presume to say that you can't convict a man on the word of a woman (or vice versa).

Chances are, it's a girl looking for an out of court settlement. The media attention is just a bonus. This is an old story among the famous. He should have just paid her the hush money.

My understanding is that there is physical evidence----that is if you consider vaginal tearing to be evidence.
