Yeah! Hi! You see me? WASSSSSUP!
Got back from China a few days ago (still jetlagged) and have been quite busy. I won't tell you about the trip itself, as it undermines the reason I went: To see it for myself. To see if I had the guts to hike china with no phone, no flight back booked, and sometimes sleeping in the wild in the tiny tent that I had brought along. Well, I did. And I may get sued to my eyeballs for copyright laws for saying this, but JUST DO IT!!! Anyway, I touched home in Heathrow a few days ago. Got a taxi home, blah blah blah. Got in, went through mail for the month I was away. Letters from stone-age friends who still haven't got the internet, some bills, some junkmail....AND MY SPONSORSHIP!!!!! Back in March I applied for sponsorship for my running carreer. I was refused once, but now I have it from some huge company in Sheffield that sells cutlery. WAHEY!!!!! Sorted out all the boring stuff through email, and the Sponsorship form won't come through till April NEXT YEAR but it's done. Now to wait. This means BIG things! First, I've kept pretty quiet about applying, both here and to my friends and family. Now I can shout it from the rooftops. Second, and far more important, is what sponsorship to a runner means. It means that I can now compete in competetions around the world, with my air fare paid, my hotel room paid, and I can get the newest spiked shoes available...FREE TO ME! As long as I where some company logo, that is. Well, it's not quite the CommonWealths, but it's a step up from forking out 90 quid to enter a tournement!

As for the China thing, fantastic man! I can see myself in 10 years wishing I'd done the whole OE and regretting not doing it so I'd better pull finger and get some cash huh

Wow, that's fantastic Horatio, congratulations!!!
I hope it works out for the best, but considering the fact they were willing to sponsor you, you must be good!

Melusine, bear in mind that I was turned down before this. Besides, some tournements have hundreds of sponsored athletes in, so sponsorship is quite common among serious athletes. But still...
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYE SYES!!! I GOT IT! I GOT IT!
