Search for the Stone of H'rrrK A'ckm'Yh'Ead

OOC: This thread is about the Adventures of Sir Morguerat formerly of Keldorns Order and his search for the Pomel stone which will give power to both his swords, Crysomer, and Spirit Burner, it follows along the rules genearlly laid down for the lord of the forums threads, and will take place within that timeline, any who wish to join Sir Morguerat on this quest is welcome to, additional RP-ers will only make things more fun, whether it be allies or foes.

IC: Sir Morguerat rode from the tower of the Modding Mage, on a particularly dreary morning, the mages power over the and was causing it to decay at an alarming rate, and Clonin was very eager to be leaving the desolate landscape, as he rode he bagan to feel the wind pick up, and the cool fresh air was a welcome feel on his tired and of late, oft troubled brow.

"This journey and how we conduct ourselves will determine whether I am still fit for the service of my gods as a noble paladin" he said softly to Clonin, thn rubbed the horse's neck and let the horse run for a bit to stretch his legs, cramped from the many weeks when he was stabled in the mages tower with only an illusionary track to run on, and even a simple horse can sense the diferrence between real air and dirt beneath his hooves, and a simple illusion to fool his human caretakers.

"Ahh, soon we will arive in the Hills of Rohirrim, and it is there that we will find the tomes of Ahr'Ivail, one of the greatest and most well known historians in the forums, the rare texts he has ferreted away will hopefully contain the location of the stone of H'rrrK A'ckm'Yh'Ead, leading to a short and succsessful quest.

As Clonin's hooves galloped on and they left the desolate land further and further behind, the landscape slowly changed to a cheerful green. Spruces and pines heavy with verdure flanked the rocky path, and the warbling of birds could be heard. A mild frangrance of honeysuckle tinged the fresh morning air. Sir Morguerat felt a little more cheerful, but thinking of the plight of the land now far behind him his countenance soon resumed its pall of gloom.

Then he noticed a human figure just emerging from the trees several paces ahead. It was a handsome young man with long hair and a trim beard. Short and dark, he wore nothing above the waist and was strongly built, and in his hand was a long stick-like object with a large ball of glowing crystal fixed to one end. A magic wand? Sir Morguerat wondered. Could this man be one of the evil mages that sought to destroy the land?

Yet the youth's large, smiling eyes and bright complexion suggested to Sir Morguerat that he wasn't evil. The young mage smiled at Morguerat. "Good morning, Sir," he said. "I'm Rufus. I live in this forest. Who are you?"

As Rufus and Morgeruat traveled the dirt road full of pebbles and dust, it would seem as this trip would be inevitable. As they continued traveling on, they could see a distinct figure up ahead.

It appeared to be a man, dressed in a goldish like plate, and his horse looked almost as fancy as the man. He was wearing a Crusader Helm, and he walked up to Rufus and Morgeruat.
"Hail traveler's, I am Sir Jorlon. I belong to the Order of the Most Radiant Heart, and under there instructions, I lead a regiment of 20 knights, and 10 priests. It is under the Order that I leave my citidael and seek a man named Faulok who are searching for a potential weapon that could threaten these lands. The weapon is called Annihalium, and it is a tome containing a formula to create a weapon of sheer power. But now, it seems that my quests aids me else where. You look like you need some water and food, so let me share my rations with you. By my honor, I will protect you under the hands of light, and my sword Auralignten." Sir Jorlon immediantley takes out some steak and water, and sets a fire.

I wonder when Morgeruat himself will come back and continue the story. But anyway...

"That is most kind of you, Sir," replied Rufus with a grin. "What say you, Sir Morguerat?" Morguerat said nothing, but smiled and nodded.

"We can use a bit of shelter, too," said Rufus as he waved his wand. Immediately a large tent appeared. Sir Jorlon's and Morguerat's eyes narrowed with fascination. "Are the other knights and priests following you joining us?" asked Rufus. "If so, then I shall make the tent larger so it could accommodate all of us."

"Alas, my regiment will not be joining me. They have there duties back at my citidael. They're duty is to protect the the city with there life. As you see, they cannot join us. But I have already asked service from my mage friend, Khadgar. I have also asked the service from my friend SecretMaster's adventuring party, the cleric StoneRock Chuktak. They belong to a party called the Gung ho Swords. But thats a different story. But i kindly accept your tents with ease. I will set up a fire and we will all have steamed carrots and steak." With that Sir Jorlon goes to work gathering wood.

Before long, Sir Jorlon returned with a pile of firewood. As he laid it on the ground where he meant to build a fire, Rufus waved his wand and the wood pile burst into flames.

"Pardon me," apologised Rufus. "Magic is so much fun." He waved his wand again and a large bowl of fruit appeared before everyone. "Come, friends, let's help ourselves while the carrot and steak are being prepared."

"A good magician, aren't you?" commented Morgeruat. "Where did you acquire your skills from?"

Rufus smiled. "I was rescued and adopted when a babe by the archmage Magnus Viridinus. He's a kind but strict person and it was he who tutored me in the art of magic. I believe you'll like him. Perchance he can help both of you in your quests! We live in a complex of large underground chambers in this forest, which he created with his spells. Incidentally, he made me shift by hand three times a week all the giant magic tomes of his library, as part of the work of keeping our dwelling place clean and tidy."

Sir Jorlon laughed and slapped Rufus in the back. "So that's why you're so strongly built!"

"Actually, now that I think of it, I've actually aided Magnus Viridinus once. Yes now I remember, he needed help in finding a thief who stole a magical book. But I only met him twice during that whole time, so I don't know to much about him. Now then, a toast to Rufus's excellent magic and a great meal!"

"You flatter me, these spells are nothing. Thanks anyway," replied the mage. "But I have to say I'm surprised to learn that you actually came to know my master before!"

"I know a lot of people," said Sir Jorlon. "How's your master at present?"

"He's in good health, thank you," answered Rufus. "But he's been worried of late about this strange malaise that's causing a neighboring area of land to wither and turn sterile, so these few weeks he's been staying up late every night to do research in his library..."

"The Modding Mage," hissed Sir Morguerat between his teeth in anger upon hearing what Rufus said. "It is the work of that thrice-cursed spawn of Hell..."

"Come again, please, Sir?" asked Sir Jorlon in a concerned voice.
