Sometimes when i dont play BG2 for a while then i start it up it says install when it already is..! if i click install it says uninstall all information first. Then my save is wiped and i have to start again. I know i could save my save file to floppy but i still have to reinstall my game an it gets annoying.. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just my comp..? ( it might be cus i need baldur dash )

IIRC, there was a bug with ToB where some system protection tools would mistakenly wipe out vital registry entrys. Installing that latest official patch will fix it. Do baldurdash as well, it wont cure this but it will fix myriad other bugs and thats always a good thing.

I faintly remember this problem. You should be fine if you just start from the BGMain.Exe instead of the startmenu entry.
Also backuping isn't such a drag. You don't have to do it on floppy, you can always backup elsewhere in the HD
