had anyone surrendered the gold to or joined them?
I was a little weak from my confrontation with this robed guy (can't remember the name) who uses the Face of Death spell..... ...suddenly I ran across this bandit group! I tried talking to him but they appeared hostile so I got fed up and used the Meteorshower and magna bomb on them from the distance. ------------------ |

No, never did try to join them. Had a quest to waste them so I did.

No I didn't try to join them either, was that an option, Adam? This was one of the highlights of the game, Getting attacked by the bandits and their leader and their king and the assassin and everyone at the same time. Did this happen to you too? A great battle! (and a close call as well)

Yes, you can join them IF you prosime them you'll kill the stout near the open King's treasure chamber. You'll have to kill him and return to the group. I didn't do it either - I ignored the quest. Go figure.
