Fight for Kelsey ......Mod spoiler

I installed the Kelsey patch in order to have a reasonable romance option for my female main character and he haven't dissapointed me yet. I do have one problem however.

At one point of the game a mad wizard named Caera (as far as I know) sends a messenger to "retrieve" Kelsey for her experiments. The ensuing fight was easy enough.

The next fight when she appears in person is, however somewhat problematic. At first there is an annoying bug that causes all the enemies to freeze if you move in the time between Caera's appearance and the arrival of the reinforcements.

Secondly the battle is damn tough. My party is about level 10/11 and includes:

Grix (main character, half orc babarian)
Anomen (Kelsey needs a little opposition)
Minsc
Jaheira
Kelsey
Jan

The opposing party as far as I have observed is made up by:

Two wizards Caera and a cowled wizard.
A thief with an invisibility potion
A cleric (who I observed casting an instant death spell once, dunno what specific one)
An orc warrior of sorts
A sixth person who might also be a cleric.

I know how to deal with most of them (even the invisible stalker that they summon with a spell trigger) but I constantly lose the battle when one of the wizards (I guess it's Caera) casts a spell that unleashes a lot of magenta energy that stuns most of my party.

What exactly is that purplish blast (a power word?) and what can I do to counter it.

you'll have much better luck posting this where you got the mod. most of the players here use patches, but not mods. But who knows? just use good tactics. [img]graemlins/evillaughter1.gif[/img]

At least you might know what kind of spell takes the visage of a huge purple burst and stuns people.

You are right. I should warn the Kelsey developers team about the bug (though I guess they know about it already).

The spells name is "Power Word: Stun", I know that Dipsel Magic/Dispel Effects works against it, and I think that the four level priest spell "Free Action" prevents it, I'm not sure though..

do any protection spell that protects movemnts, liek free action, and it will protect from stun
