What do you think the coolest LotR name is? I think its 1 of these:

Mithrandir (Gandalf (The Grey Pilgrim)

Khazad-Dum (The City of the Dwarves )

Saurumon the White

Radagast the Brown

or

Elrond

Ah, a trick question. The third one's no LotR name, and the first and fourth are titles (although the Radagast bit isn't). The second one is a description, which leaves only Elrond as the correct answer. Although there are cooler names than Elrond (looks to the left), it's the best (and worst ) one on the list.

Took the words right out of my mouth. How can you say you like this and that name from LOTR when you make TWO spelling mistakes in a single name?

And it doesn't have to be one on the list...it can be any name. Or place. Or ANYTHING in Lord of the Rings.

How do you spell Saurumon? Like this?: Sauriman?

No, it's Saruman. I always found liking a name was a combination of liking the spelling and liking the pronunciation, that's why I posted.

Alatar the Blue (named my computer after him)!!! Elros is a pretty cool name too, and I always liked the sound of "Entwash."

i've always felt that tolkien's names were as descriptive (in their sound) of his characters as any prose he wrote. just tell me that 'gimli' isn't the name of a stout, tough-as-rocks fellow!
with that, my favorite name from lotr is galadriel. how could it not be?

Mithrandir sounds pretty cool.
