It depends. What type of class combo would you like to try this time. Playing as a light Jedi, my favorite class combo is 7/14 Scout-Guardian. For such a combinations, I tend to pump more points in STR and WIS while investing some points in INT and DEX.

the best dark side user for KOTOR is a consular. #1 reason. Marka Ragnos' gauntlets. Gives specialization for lightsabers. Jedi Robes that are special for dark side are scarce, so none make the best use. They do have a lot of other cool junk though. I recommend a 8/12 Scout Consular.

Sorry I have forgotten to include some details.

I was thinking of starting off with a scout and later becoming a sentinal. He would be on the dark side and would be decent in melee with two weapon style. And would be pretty good with force powers.

How are these stats

STR:10
DEX:16 (Does dex count to hit for sabers if dex is higher than strength? And I am planning to raise dex to 18 in levels 4 and 8)
Con:10
INT:14
WIS:14 (planning to increase by two when level 12 and 16)
CHR:12

Hmm, Are you planning on using alot of skills? If not 2-4 of those INT points can go to Strength for melee combat bonuses or Charisma to make it harder to resist your force powers. Several of the NPCs can fufill tasks like security and computer hacking.

Repair can be a vital skill in the case of one certain NPC's sub-plot but I was able to get that job done by level 17 (playing a 5 scout/ 12 Gaurdian) with an 10 int by increasing repair to the max when available and using repair enhancing items.

I think dex helps with lightsabers, though this is not in the manual. Also with scout's free implant feats you can find some decent dex improvement.

I would consider making at least one stat ( WIS perhaps) at start an odd number to take advantage of the fact you'll get 5 total stat increases. This way you dont waste that level 20 increase by making an odd number stat.

For lightsaber "to hit" bonus, it depends of either DEX or STR, which is higher. Since there are good power gauntlets later in the game, I would suggest you to invest on STR. Also the good thing about high STR rating is that it will bestow you high damage bonus with lightsaber.

On skill wise, it is good to invest on "Computer" and "Repair". "Persuade" is also a good skill to invest unless you prefer to use force powers to influence people. For dark Jedis, "Treat Injury" is more useful than light side Jedis since force heal isn't very cost effective to use. With a moderate "Treat Injury" skill, you can heal more hit points with med packs.

Just how much should I invest into strength?

Say about max STR in the range of 19 - 23 would be good. With the +5 power gauntlet, you will get about 24 - 28, should be good enough to dual wield and high "to hit" rating to beat Malak with ease.

Try to keep the total stats (stat + bonus from items) on even number because odd stats have the same bonus as the lower even stats. For example, STR 17 have the same "to hit" rating as STR 16.

If you prefer to invest less in STR, I would advise you to consider dueling since it gives better "to hit". The damage rating is somewhat less than dual wield but with Master Flurry and Master Speed, you will still be an awesome human lawnmower.

One of my most poweful class combination, 7/14 soldier-guadian with light mastery was having an excess of 30+ in STR. If it wasn't for his force lighting and his annoying run-and-replenish maneuver, I would have killed him less than 2 minutes.

Anyway, below is a good guide for building up your ultimate player character.

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/...r_gameplay.txt

(If diect clicking on the link does not work, you will need to copy the link and paste it onto the address column in IE)

If you are still not sure, a "to hit" bonus with the lightsaber of the range 28- 30+ is good enough to tackle most foe, a +32 and +33 is good enough to battle with Malak one-one-one without using force powers, except force jump and master speed.
