where's some good armor?

i'm at the end of chapter three and i need some decent armor. my fighters are all kitted out with in full plate mail+1 but i wondered if there was any others knocking about that were any good?.
p.s. are you supposed to kill frikrag when you do his dungeon he gives me the impression that i will meet him later, i need to sort it because i need that +5 sword thing ive been hearing about
p.p.s. is there a time limit on king stroms mask, because ive walked round firkrags dungeon a hundred times and i cant see shit

Well, you don't have to kill Firkraag, but if you do you get like 60.000 exp points, plus Carsomyr +5 (which kicks ass, only usable by paladins though)...
And you get red dragon scales, which answers you first question, because you can make a fierce plate mail armor out of them!

King Stroms mask:
to the north-east, after all of those djinnis rooms, there is a room which contains a fire elemental (whom you can only see if you use true sight, or use the mask)..

when you kill him, you get to a room which contains some real good items, which are pretty good against Firkraag himself.

Yeah, the red dragon scales kick butt royaly (hint: combine with an item of protection (cloak, ring, amulet)
Also if you are a paladin and do the stronghold quests you'll get some good armor at the end
