Did anyone else see this movie? I just rented from the evil empire known as Blockbuster and I was really blown away. Not the whole violence thing, but at the end, when you find out who is is a victim. That was just a great movie. I was expecting horror, but I found more of a psychological horror film. Anyone agree? Disagree?

Oh, but I was disappointed by the car chase. You can see the budget cuts there.

The budget didn't have to do with the car chase. In this movie, it used the instant scene horror, instead of having events happen in normal time, have scenes flash, come and go quickly like in 28 Days Later.
When I saw this movie, last night, when it ended, I thought, "Wow, this is one realy f**ked up movie." I'd really like to know who thought and wrote out the script on this one. |

I love the surprise ending. That's somthing you realy don't see coming, normally surprise endings are pretty much cliches, but this was unique. Best horror film in the last few years or so.

In horror films, when the source of the horror is a "serial killer"...thus nothing supernatural...isn't there supposed to be some element of logic involved?
Maybe I'm wrong there. Anyway, I got a little annoyed at this film because it went out of it's way to throw out little clues, supposedly logical bits, and yet it does't work well on the whole. Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . How did the killer electricute them if both his hands were occupied? Wouldn't they notice some movement? What was up with the whole puzzle piece thing? They kind of introduced it but it went nowhere. And how did that fit with any of the killer's supposed "teachings"? Did anybody else want to hit Cary Elwes? Hard? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film (if that's the right word for it). I just get annoyed when a plot tries to present logic and ideology but throws them away when they're not convenient.

SPOILERS
I thought it was a good movie. Not nightmare giving, but pretty twisted. I also wondered about some of the things the killer did. The electrocution, and also, when Adam is looking through the pictures, and finds the picture that was taken of the Doctor's window, with the guy standing there, how did the killer get hold of it? The cop was the one who took it, and there could have been scarcely enough time for it to find its way into the room even if the cop GAVE it to the killer. My friends and I also thought it was strange that the two men did not notice the killer breathing as he lay on the floor. Breathing when on your stomach is (a) harder, and (b) more nticeable because of it. (We tested this) ![]() As for the killer's teachings... it was one thing: that the victims don't appreciate the life they have enough. The games were supposed to make them grateful to be alive. Which I think it would have done. Who was Cary Elwes? I didn't feel the acting was bad, if that's what you meant. [ 03-01-2005, 09:06 AM: Message edited by: Callum ]
