Hi Z

Just had a wierd experience. I'd played for a couple of hours until the crash at about 8.00 BST today (9th) and amassed lots of goodies from lvl 2. I saved regularly and when I just logged on just now it was as if had never happened, no experience and no treasure. Was I dreaming?

Yeah that happened to me as well. I Lost a level and all my goodies and ended up back in the Tavern.

Z came on and said it was the server crash and the Server vault must't have saved properly.

Happened to me three times so far, I'm relogging regularly to keep the damage to a minimum. I lost two levels twice and a bit of gear the third time, but fortuately it's easily enough replaced.

Yeah its usually easy to replace, unless some one else beats you to it when the server resets.

The crashs mainly seem to happen either in the Tavern or Skullport.

Must be all the NPC's I reckon.

The NPCs, the merchants... in Undermountain it's the hordes of monsters being mowed down by well-placed area of effect spells.
What it boils down to is that it's the lag, yeah

I've just checked my local vault and found 222 Valdos. I looked at number 222 and that was almost certainly the final save before the crash because there were a dozen at 18th lvl and at the start of the session I'd just reached that level. Why is it saved to the local vault too? I don't have that much experience with server vaults, but it would explain a few mystery characters that I have obviously forgotten about creating.

Oh well, I'll just have to log out every half hour or so. I didn't lose that much, someone had beaten me to the good stuff *sobs quietly*

Edit:

That explains the local vault characters then!
