I haven't played BG1 for a long time and I am just now starting BG2. Is there any where I can get a story recap to BG1? I don't really remember everything that happen in the game and I want to refresh my memory before I start. Since I started BG2 a few things have been mentioned that I don't remember all the details about.
I was going to play BG1 again but one of my disks is damaged (disk3) and I can't do anything in Nashkel. Thanks for the help. |

SPOILERS (duh!)
- - - - - - Ok. This is as much as I can remember. You start off in Candlekeep, with Gorion as your foster father and no memory of your real parents. One day he tells you that you must leave and head for somewhere safe. Just outside Candlekeep, you and Gorion are ambushed by a woman, two ogres, and an armored figure. You run away and watch from afar. Gorion kills the ogres and does his best against the armored figure, but he is cut down anyway. From there you headed to the Friendly Arm Inn and picked up Khalid and Jaheira, then headed south to Nashkel. You went into the mines and all the way to the bottom, finding a half-orc cleric pretending to be a god of the kobolds, and forcing them to taint all the iron. You killed him, then read some letters he had in a chest. They mentioned a messenger staying at Feldepost's Inn in Beregost, and you forced him to divulge the location to a secret Bandit Camp. You made your way there, and slew the bandit camp leaders. The person you were expecting to find, who was mentioned in the letters, was no where to be found. After freeing a thief who was held captive, Ender Sai, he informed you that the bandits, mixed members of the Black Talons and the Chill, were all working for the Iron Throne, a large company. You find more letters speaking of a secret iron mine in the Cloakwood Forest, and head there right away. Eventually you slay the mine's leader, a mage named Davaeorn (sp?), and free all the slaves forced to work in the mines. But now you need to travel to the big city itself, Baldur's Gate. From there you investigate the Seven Sun's Trading Coster, only to find most of the staff has been replaced by dopplegangers. You report this discovery to Scar, the leader of the Flaming Fist. He then tells you to take a look into the Iron Throne. However, the Iron Throne leaders are away on a trip to Candlekeep. When you come back to speak to Scar, you find that he has been slain by dopplegangers, and another doppleganger has taken the place as a "healer" for the deathly sick Duke Eltan. You kill that one too, then take the Duke to a safe place. He gives you a book which will grant you entry to Candlekeep, but you are unable to harm the Iron Throne leaders, due to the laws of Candlekeep. As you are exploring the area, you are informed that you are to be arrested for the killings of the Iron Throne leaders. You are positive of your innocence, and agree to a trial. Tethtoril busts you out, and teleports you into a dungeon beneath Candlekeep. After fighting many undead and dopplegangers of your closest friends and acquantances, you are free, and head to Baldur's Gate. This time, the entire Flaming Fist is against you, searching all over. The new leader of the Flaming Fist, Angelo, needs to be removed. The leader of the Iron Throne, Sarevok, plans to use the mined iron to solve the area's iron crisis he caused, then become a hero and eventually the last living Duke of Baldur's Gate. From then, he plans to declare war on Amn. Why anyone would want to do this, no one knows. You kill Angelo and many of his Flaming Fist, then search for Sarevok. You find letters telling of his two assassins, Slythe and Kristen, hiding in the sewers, waiting for doppleganger reinforcement. You head to the brothel and slay those two, taking their invitations to the Duchal Palace for yourself. You use them and enter the Palace on Sarevok's initiation as a duke, where he plans to kill the other living dukes. You foil his plans, and his mentor mage, Winski (or something like that) Perorate, teleports them both away. You are told they headed into the Elder City, beneath Baldur's Gate. You head there and through a giant maze, then into the Elder City. You kill some treasure hunters that are after you and Sarevok, then proceed to the Temple of Bhaal where Sarevok is hiding. You enter and he explains himself. He is your brother, and you are both Children of Bhaal. He plans to create a massive war of sacrifice in order to become the new Lord of Murder. You manage to kill him, after great effort. If I left anything out, please correct me. Also, I think some of the events in Baldur's Gate may be out of place... sorry about that. -Brainless One |

Thanks a lot Brainless One. That is a great refresher for me. I just wanted to make sure I had the story straight. My party just got out of the prison in the begining of BG2 and I wanted to make sure I remembered all the major plot points in case they came up later in the game.
Thanks again. |
