Robe of Vecna + timestop

When i had gotten my hands on the robe i thought "This Gotta Be Good With Timestop" so i tried it but i did not cast any more spells under the timestop because when i used robe i got i interrupt in the timestop between each each spell but when i wasn't using it i didn't have any interupts why does robe of vecna increase the interupts

Heh, its not increasing interrupts. Lets get you a walkover...

Mage or cleric is allowed to cast 1 (ONE) spell each round (6 seconds). Each spell has its casting time, in tenths of round (thus, casting time 10 means full round, while casting time 5 means half of it). Robe Of Vecna decreases casting time of your spells by 4, but it does not allow you to cast more than one spell per round. So you had to stay&wait for the round to end some 4/10 round more. Thats why you've thought The Robe increases the delays [img]smile.gif[/img]

ADD]To cast more spells per round, use a certain ToB ability. I have described it in the thread called Wizard Question here. Or just say 'spoil me' for me to repeat [img]smile.gif[/img]

In the thick of combat, every second it too precious to loose. With The Robe, most spells are cast instaneously. That saves your hide more than once, especially if you are soloing [img]smile.gif[/img]

But you can use the spare time the robe buys you in the timestop.

Just make sure you cast MMM before timestop, so that you don't waste time. Then cast you spell, pelt your enemy with the meteors, cast the next spell, pelt your enemy ...

Always instead of waiting until you can cast the next spell you can do two things: run or fight. As a mage if you need to fight you would prefer MMM.

In a time stop this is very nasty since each attack is an autohit. I have tactics mod installed and this seems one of the liches prefered tactics. I can tell you it is absolutely devastating.

Also good is to transform into a mindflayer if you can, and drain the enemies intelligence until it is 0 the enemy is dead. Autohit is absolutely devastating.

Look also for an amulett which decreases spell casting.

The decreased casting time now actually makes vampiric touch viable for a spell caster. Nice way to heal or increase your HP and at the same time damage your enemy. Unfortunately it doesn't stack.
