Weapon of choice : Staff of Rynn + 4. Its a long way from the best weapon in the game, but it is a blunt weapon so it will effect adamntite golems.

Also theres the sling everard+5 from joluv in the copper coronet (youll need the relevant file form http://members.rogers.com/mrkevvy if you dont have the collectors edition) which will do damage, but youll need to keep away from him. Golems that big cant get through doors which usualy help.

Possible Minor Spoiler
How come an adamantite golem can survive outside the underdark in the first place?

drow craftmanship is what fall apart outside of the underdark, their enchantment process relies on strange radioactive fungi in the underdark, adn taking items to teh surface causes them to decay and become worthless pieces of scrap, the metal is second only to Mithril in hardness and so it os only poor craftsmanship that is to blame for drow weapons, however used at night, and returned to darkness before sunrise will preserve drow items (in PnP, in bg2 there is no LEGAL way to keep them) and even then they will fall apart in a month if not returned to the underdark weekly.

while the downside of drow magic items is easy to see the upside is that it makes enchantment very easy, and thus amgic items are common, making drow armies in the underdark unbelievably powerful.

Correction. Adamantium Golems only require +3 enchanted or higher weapons.

I am guessing you are in Firkrags dungeon since you have to rescue a child. And the golem you're talking about is near that bridge. Dundee is right, it only takes a +3 weapon. If you have Lilacor you can stay at a safe enough distance from the golem and whack away. It's kind of cheap and takes a while to kill it but you can get by free of injury.

Tansheron’s Bow is available from a merchant at Trademeet. It does only one or at best two HP of damage per hit but give it to your best archer stand well away and let him or her fire away at the beast while he stands in the doorway setting off his cloud kills. Slow but effective

Azure Egde - the throwing axe that can be bought from Bernard in the Copper Coronet can hurt them - just stand back and throw

Also, if you get the Gesen bow forged after the Underdark, you should be able to use it against the Adamantite Golems as well. (+4 magic arrows).
