I have Jaheria and aerie in my party, however i also have Kolgon and he is always shouting at aerie, in the middle of the planar sphere quest they had another argument and he persuaded her to leave, leaving me with no serious spellcaster in the party. So i reloaded and omitted Kolgon from the party.

However i want him back cos he is hard as nails, so im going to finish the quest find another spellcaster and the bring Kolgon back and boot out Aerie.

So i want a kick ass spellcaster who is not concerned with healing, just destroying people.

Who is the best??? Where do i find him?

I am worried about swapping party members, because if i get another spellcaster im worried they will only have a handful of spells! Baring in mind every spell i found in the game i have given to aerie to learn.

Any suggestions? Any deadly fighters would also be appreciated! If i get a new party member will they have equal ex to the rest of my party? How does that work?

Thanks.

Oooh. Good and Evil characters to not interact too well. Suggestions? OK.....

Edwin- Conjuror, Best Spellcaster in game, but utterly evil
Keldorn- Paladin, Equipped with Gauntlets of Dexterity, Kick A$$
Korgan- Not Bad Fighter, But he has a horrible demeanor!

All NPC have their own XP count. So if you have travelled lot with Aerie, it will be wise to let her stay in the party. If you do not mind having a paladin in your party, I would suggest you get Keldorn, and max his proficiences in two-handed swords, and the according style. Travel to the Windspear Hills to learn why He will become even harder than Korgan later...

And, besides Aerie, I also suggest you get Edwin, and, maybe, kick out Jaheira, for you a cleric already (Aerie), you have a lass to romance with (again Aerie) and Jah really sucks as a fighter. So later in the game your party will have a decent tank (or 2 or even 3 if your main char is also a fighter-like class, and if you bring Minsk along ) and a good mage-power support (Edwin IS the best mage in the game IMHO, because he is a specialist conjurer, missing only some IDs Aerie can cast, and true sights Keldorn can cast), getting an extra spell slot for each level of spells. And later in the game good magical support is a must-have!

Experiment with the party, but try to do it fast, because the game contains limited amounts of XP and once-gained XP will in no means be transferred to an another NPC you would want to bring along later. Judge wisely! And remember, the game IS well-balanced, so all the classes will become very powerful at high levels!

edwin can be found in Mae['Var's guildhall, you'll have to do Mae'Var's quests to get Edwin into the party. Do them, they yield XP and money. The quest is triggered by talking to Renal Bloodscalp.

You will meet Keldorn in the sewers under the temple district. He will join in with no hetitation.

Is it a good idea to have edwin and aerie is the same group? Will they fight with each other and leave the party?

Ok, my planned group... i will have main character (fighter), Kolgon (fighter) then Edwin (conjuror) aerie (cleric) and Keldorn (paladin).

The only choice then is Minsc or Yoshimo? Who da ya think?

Good choice on Edwin, he is excellent.
Out of Minsc and Yoshimitsu, i would choose minsc but both have their major drawbacks.

Yoshimo - Will betray you to Iranicus
Minsc - After a while will argue with Edwin, if left for long enough they will sperate from your party and battle to the death.

It is better, IMHO, to drop Korgan - 2 tanks is more than enough! Your PC is a fighter, so good! Anyway, sooner or later you'll have to decide, whom to leave behind - Korgan or Aerie. I suggest you kick Korgan out and get Anomen as an alternative. Or, stick with Jaheira. But Anomen will be a better alternative, being a not-so-bad fighter while constantly gaining cleric spells. It is p to you to decide.

Edwin and Aerie never battled or even agrued im my game, although it may occur in your.

My ideal beginner party:
Me - berserker
Minsk - ranger
Keldorn - Inquisitor
Yoshimo - Bounty Hunter (do not spend too much money on his eq...)
Aerie - romance & Cleric/Mage
Edwin - Conjurer.

Kicked a$$!

The thing to remember, the character interactions are strongly based on the AD&D alignment system, so characters of opposing alignments WILL argue and probably break from your party. Bad combos:
CG <-> LE (Minsc & Edwin)
LG <-> CE (Aerie & Korgan, Keldorn and any evil)
NG <-> NE
CN <-> LN (Anomen and Jan don't like each other at all)

True Neutrals are the only ones who get along with just about anyone. Goods and evils can sometimes coexist in the properly balanced party. I had a party with Minsc, Nalia, Jan, Korgan, and Vicky. My hero was N. They got along OK, except for Vicky picking on Nalia, Jan teasing Korgan (hilarious), and Korgan picking on everybody. No fights or people leaving my party though. By rp'ing as neutral as possible, I was able to keep everybody happy. I think Vicky is the best evil to have in a good party, provided you don't also have Keldorn. The self-righteous paladin eventually tries to kill the stinking drow.

Mixing opposite alignments is the quickest way to invite trouble.

Party members fighting eachother is influenced by other things than Aligment too. I'm not sure what exactly, but i had 2 party members fight in one game, and put up with eachother in a second game.
I think it has something to do with reputation and maybe charisma.
So if you have high Charisma and keep the reputation at an acceptable lvl for both of them, they wont fight.

Let me remind you guys of the Happy Group Scripts, which removes all NPC-interactions.
