Funky glitch / exploit in the Witcher

I don't know if anyone else has found this / had this happen but I indirectly found a way to get a bunch of money.
When entering the 2nd chapter, the 1st quest I did was the one for the shady character / fence ( he is only there at 6 - 7 A.M. outside the sewer) who wants you to get a ring from the ghoul infested crypt in the temple sewers. After completing the quest I went and put all the rings in the inn. I took the rings out little later on and sold them to Thaler to buy books. I then went back to get something from my storage area and all the rings were back ( 1 signet , 3 silver ruby, and 2 silver rings). So being the greedy individual that I am, I went back and resold them and BAM they were back there again. I wound up getting enough cash to buy all the books from the book seller, upgrade my sword, and have enough money to gamble to buy the excellent armor before going to the swamp and still have money to buy potion ingredients, gloves, the shawl for" conversation" with the gossip etc. Now here is the wierd thing. In chapter 3, when I go to the trade quarter inn, the rings are not there, BUT if I go to the temple inn they are still there.
Has this happened to any one else?
