LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former Miss USA Tara Conner, who nearly lost her title for alcohol abuse, is joining several other beauty queens on a new MTV reality show that follows what happens to the pageant winners when their crowns come off. The eight-part series "Pageant Place" which debuts on Wednesday, repackages the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA champions as TV roommates for the kind of behind-the-scenes spectacle that made hits from shows like "Big Brother" and "The Osbournes." The new series follows Miss Universe Riyo Mori from Japan, Miss USA Rachel Smith of Tennessee and two Miss Teen USA winners -- Katie Blair and Hilary Cruz -- as they share a high-rise apartment in New York City for one year. Acting as their minder and "unofficial peer advisor" for the show will be none other than Conner, the 2006 Miss USA queen who was almost forced to give up her crown over revelations of her underage drinking.

Thoughts that cross my mind...

• They're living together for a year, and they can only get eight hours of material out of it?
• And when did they start, or will they end? Eight episodes over a year won't hold a lot of attraction...
• Another chance for Donald Trump to gaze at beautiful women... not bad work, if you can get it
• Starting with so few, how are they going to boot people off? Or generate conflict?

Well, I'll have to see if it comes on any time soon.

Yeah not sure how well this show will do, what with so many model type reality shows already out there. That IS nuts that they shot footage over a YEAR's time? Wow. That's way longer than other shows sheesh. To cut out only eight episodes from an entire year, well...I guess we will see some big something! Or maybe not LOL. I'm like you Bungleau, I guess we'll see how it goes when it airs!

Saw about 15 minutes at the end of the first episode. Eh...I guess there is some controversy with a few of the girls, and I guess MTV and Trump will try to milk that as much as possible LOL.
