Default FRUA Sprites?

I have not made any sprites yet, but would like to take a look at some of the old "standard" sprites to note sizing and such... Any good examples on the Net somewhere?

In my opinion there are good individual sprites from FRUA, but when looked at as a whole, not so good, just because everything and everybody is the same height.

I was just looking at the archive and it seems that sprites are the one thing that I haven't converted to DC...
I'll work on that and start posting some conversions here in this thread for ya, and then I'll post all of them to the archive.

Cool... I guess I am most interested in deciding what is the best size for sprites (based on the original work), so that I can work from there...

(It is hard to catch sprites when playing the old gold box games, because the monsters come so fast!)

Okey doke, here is the first one, I believe this is a hill giant.

Also, just added a human fighter and a black dragon.

I guess the size is not so bad when you think about size relative to the icons being used.

Oh, did you resize them? Looks pretty nice As for size... Hmm, well, looking at the human, I guess that the tarzan-outfitted dude may be an ogre, then? (But the black dragon is kind of small...)

I guess there wasn't really much of a size consensus back then?

The "tarzan clad dude" is a hill giant.

There was resizing of each frame from the 88x88 of FRUA to the 176x211 of DC.

Ah, well, in 1e hill giants were only 10 1/2 feet tall, so I guess it actually makes sense. (Black dragons were 30' long, but height was not specified, so I guess this is okay, too.)

In either case, I guess the human there can be representative of about 6' then for me!
