damn it, i left the long bow of marksmanship behind and now it's gone

There are many options you have actually...

A)Cheat and get it, since you already earned it by killing of hordes of bandits why not? Let me see, i think its CLUAConsole:CreateItem("BOW07"). But introducing you to cheating will ruin your life.

B)Another way, maybe not the easiest, but efficient... take the game your currently on, save it. Take a previously saved game, go back through all that crap, get the bow, export the character with the bow. Take that game you saved and turn it into a Multiplayer game file, go to Multiplayer options, choose IP/IPP or something(looks like that) load up the saved game that was changed to multiplayer. Import the "bow guy" to the party, take the stuff... save the game, turn it back into single player, and have fun! -- It may sound complicated but its actually really easy.

C)Create your own! Im not going to get into this... and people who havent completed the game to begin with that start making their own items just totally mess up the whole experience... ask me later!

D)Go back and see if its still there! If you havent tried that then DO IT!

E)Just start over from a saved file from before you completed chapter 3, i think its chap 3...

Thats my 2 cents. I wont think your a bloody cheater if you just use the code to get it. You did already earn it and all, the bow that is. BUT I beg of you do not use the codes to your advantage IF you havent finished the game yet, cheats take away a whole crap load of fun and adventure from the game. Good luck!

errr... not sure if i want to be the one that ruins the game for all the people who havent played it yet, tell me, have you finished it yet?

how would u be ruining the game? I have already played the game thru to chater 7 before it glitched on me.

Download the Gatekeeper program from www.mud-master.com.

I was going to say...

Go to your Baldur's Gate Folder, open up the text file baldur.ini and under [Game Options], type in Cheats=1. Then save. After this go and up Baldurs Gate.

When your in game press Tab+Alt at the same time to get the command line or whatever. Then type in CLUAConsole:CreateItem("BOW07"). The Long Bow of Marksmanship will then be created in the first available slot.

You also use this method of "cheating" if you create your own items and want to import them in the game. GateKeeper is a great "hack" but can sometimes be, well, addicting! Ya give a guy an HP Raise, hes gonna want a Magic Resist...
